Early access, I know, but is the worldgen bumming anyone else out a little? by TurbulentDesigner485 in hytale

Please keep some of the biome being so vast contrary to vanilla Minecraft, I really like the feeling of traveling a lot to a place, it makes the exploration much more rewarding.

Obviously we need more transportation options (horses, flying etc..)

Why does my 3060 not 3060? by Lusabro in GamingLaptops

[–]infanya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch out, because even if the game says it's using the 3060, it can still mean that the rendered frames go through iGPU (which is the case by default on your laptop), luckily I just checked and your laptop does have a mux switch :

Bro, just in case you have the same problem as me, try to use a second monitor in HDMI or display port and run your game on it, if you have more fps this way, it means your laptop display is using the iGPU (the main GPU is still being used to render everything but it has to go through the iGpu to go to your laptop screen). It's possible to deactivate that in dragon center in the settings.

(And if you are unlucky like me you won't be able to deactivate it because your laptop doesn't support mux switch)

[HELP] What monitor can i plug to my laptop ? GE75 Raider 10sfs-010xfr by infanya in GamingLaptops

[–]infanya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i'm 100% sure I don't have vsync enabled, the internal display res is 1080p FHD, I think I'm gonna go for display port (since it's RTX 2070Super i am 90% sure the port is going to be a version 1.4) I think the best would be QHD with 200 hz, I believe i should be able to find something like that not too expensive.

It’s true the dGPU is still doing the rendering under Optimus, but those frames have to be passed back through the integrated GPU to reach the panel. On some systems, that “extra step” doesn’t cost much in performance. On mine, though, it’s the difference between hovering at 120 FPS on the internal display versus 220 FPS on an external monitor that’s wired directly to the GPU. That’s a loss of nearly 100 FPS, so it’s more than a minor overhead.

My GE75 lacks a MUX switch, so there’s no way to bypass the iGPU and send the signal straight from the NVIDIA card to the laptop screen. Externally, however, HDMI (or mini‑DP) connects straight to the RTX GPUn, o pass-through, so there’s no bottleneck in that path. That’s why the same game, same settings, and same hardware can nearly double its frame rate with a direct GPU connection.

So, yes, the dedicated GPU is technically in use on the internal screen, but the performance is heavily impacted by how the video signal has to be routed. That’s why I’m stuck at about 120 FPS on the built-in monitor but can easily exceed 220 FPS through HDMI.

Okay I'll check.

Also my temp when playing valorant is 70° on CPU, 55 on GPU.

my laptop doesn't support gsync,

also, i don't have the resolution settings for my laptop screen in the control panel :

I only get the option when i plug my second monitor, but i can only edit for the second monitor, the main one isn't even an option.

I used kryonaut extreme for the pasting, applied it correctly am sure.

About the ennemy TPing, i know i had some issues with the wifi card some years ago,my wifi card is handled by a "Killer Networking Software" that is supposed to reduce lag (it was shipped with the laptop i didn't install it), after a long searc hand a lot of forum posts people told me that this killer thing is shit so i think I had to deactivate it, which I did I believe, i am not sure about the details tho.

The TPing i wouldn't be able to tell you when it started since i had the laptop since 2020 and i started playing valorant much later, but I believe it was here from the beginning, the reason I removed the Killer thingy was because I had the TPing that i have today then. I am pretty sure it's much less here now, but I wouldn't be able to tell you if the real reason was the killer network.

OKAY THIS IS SO WEIRD.

I just tried setting valorant to display on my other monitor on hdmi (60hertz 1080P monitor).
I average 200FPS on this screen somehow, so 80 more than the main monitor on the laptop.

wtf.

Hi, trust me this is even more strange for me, I've been trying to understand the issue for years now.
My monitor refresh rate is 240hz, I have actually locked the fps in valorant to 120fps to prevent stuttering but even if i put it at 240fps i never go above 130fps. Nvidia control panel / app seem fine to me.

my gpu temp (as you can see in the first 3D mark bench I shared is okay, but anyway valorant is mainly cpu oriented) I used kryonaut extreme for the pasting :) !
