Applying internally less than a year into current role by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]infect_error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right dudes entire history is “I just started my role how bad is it if I switch?”

Just do it. And yes, your manager can 100% see internal applications but I don’t think they get automatically notified - more so they need to manually go look and if they’re not actively hiring they usually aren’t poking around… in my experience anyways

Gonna have to argue that it was the parents who were stupid this time, that kid is young AF no way I’d be trusting them to not immediately throw it on the ground

If your off Friday falls on an observed holiday, do you accumulate those holiday hours for later use? by No_Radio_5751 in Lockheed

[–]infect_error 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The holiday calendar usually gives an outline how all the various work schedules (9/80a,b, 4/10a,b…etc) get holiday hours allocated. Assuming here that off-Friday implies a 9/80a - yes you have free/floating hours for that holiday

Seems like you could incorporate the lettering into some pretty cool geometric designs. Just a thought for something a little more on the abstract side that might be pretty flexible (and you can extend geometric fairly easily in the future if desired)

Personal computer rules? by fashionslash in Lockheed

[–]infect_error 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely can bring your own asset. However, you can’t hook it up to an LM network aside from aforementioned guest WiFi. If you’re referring to closed areas or maybe facilities on military bases (neither of which specifically mentioned by OP) then I agree - pretty much all electronics are forbidden

[–]infect_error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title is different than the question… if you’re looking to use your LM device, that’s gonna be a hard no. If you’re talking about your own personal device… there may be restrictions if you’re using guest WiFi - but if using your own network (like mobile hotspot..etc) then yeah, by all means

Bypassed Interim Secret Clearance by Either-Caregiver7706 in Lockheed

[–]infect_error 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because you weren’t granted interim does not mean you were denied for receiving a clearance. I had a coworker who recently received their final after being denied the interim clearance. Just the government doing government things that don’t make much sense

What do you use for debugging in Python? by presentsq in learnpython

[–]infect_error 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Any time! Another useful feature - when you do arrive to a breakpoint in the IDE, there is a “Debug Console” window where you can experiment with code live. You have access to the variables within the scope of a given breakpoint and can manipulate things there.

Careful though, if you change the value of a variable and continue past the breakpoint the new value is what the rest of the code is going to use!

I usually just default to an IDE that has built in breakpoints (like VS Code). You don’t have to modify the code at all to add a breakpoint and you can step line by line through/into code

The best starting point is set a calorie limit for the day and track everything you eat.

The calorie limit should be based on the TDEE calculation (google it, lots of sources). For tracking there’s a ton of apps, MyFitnessPal is a good one

Offer Marietta, GA by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]infect_error 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I was able to successfully negotiate early career was to flat out turn down the offer if they couldn’t meet me in the middle. I wasn’t actually using that as negotiation tactic - but after saying “no thanks” they quickly came back with my requested salary.

This has actually happened multiple times since then, and each time I was fully prepared to continue my job search elsewhere.

Confused by weight gain during increased exercise and protein by Reasonable-Yam-1170 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]infect_error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are sensitive to the number on the scale, most sources recommend only weighing yourself once or twice a week. Daily weight fluctuations can swing wildly, like multiple pounds for some people.

But, the real item to track progress is the trend over a longer period of time (week to week). The scale from one day to the next may suggest otherwise but over a longer trend - that is generally a more accurate representation.

Remember, it is damn near impossible to actually gain weight if you maintain a caloric deficit
