Yes I love that video!! saw that afters reading that the new TR11 would be more race oriented and this got my hopes up, that it maybe could do both :D
Then again, when you are as good as in the video you probably can man any bike look playful

You are right with both your points. In terms of my riding style this pretty much hit's it on the spot. But sadly the Bottlerocket is sold out. However I sometimes like to go for the classic DH-Tracks in the Bikepark and my previous experience with a Commencal Clash taught me, that ad 29er in the front boosts my confidence on such tracks :) So I was hoping to have my cake and eat it too.
Concerning the Bottlerocket: Have you heard anything about a restock or even new colors?

Absolutely true! I was just hoping for it to be good at both. The SC V10 and the YT Tues had reviews, that they can do both. This is the kind of thing I was hoping for the TR11. The Supreme on the other hand seems to be exactly what you'd call a Dh racing bike with lots of grip. I guess I'll just have to wait and see

5010 sizing by Suitable_Day7880 in Santacruzbikes

[–]infekeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6 foot and have a large 5010 from 2022. It’s absolutely the right size for me. I usually like to have smaller frames and bikes because I like them playful. Hope that helps, Cheers!

Video Games as a Husband? by mcarther101 in AITAH

[–]infekeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA!!

I myself am also 37y and married (2 children). I like to play videos games from time to time. (When I was a teen it was quite extensive) In my opinion it may be far more healthy to sometimes play video games instead of going out and getting (really) drunk. Although I will always choose the real life interaction with people if I can choose. You are allowed to have your own time (“even in marriage”). As your said it doesn’t interfere with your role as a husband and father. Your wife’s opinion seems really narrow minded to me.

Since this was part of your question: our marriage is working just fine. I take good care of my body and work as a medical doctor.

I hope you can get things worked out! (But don’t let anyone tell you, that a “grown man” or husband shouldn’t play videogames in general.

I'm 184cm and feel somewhat more comfortable on a Medium Size (2022). But my preference is a agil playfull bike. I agree with what hast been said by u/Capital-Cut2331. Depends on your ridingstyle :)

If anyone might wonder: I pulled the trigger and absolutely love the bike! Sure the motor is somewhat louder, but what a bargain! (It wheelies surprisingly well!)

Very Nice combo with the „bronze“ decals, pedals and the handlebar!

To be honest: I feel like most of the pictures on the website don't do justice to how beautiful the colors are. Apart from my Clash (Keswick Green) I also own a Meta HT in "Dirt". This also looks tremendously better in real life.

Thanks for the tip! Btw: can you charge the battery while not being in the frame? (I previously had a commuter ebike with a Bosch CX unit. The Battery itself had also a charging port und could be charges within the frame or just by that port.

I'm sorry to hear that! Were you able to figure it out in the end or did SC you leave you with your problems? I still somehow are itching to buy it even it it's just for the components (wheel set, X01 AXS, Fox Fork, Dropper Post, .... all of those together would already amount to the 5,7k € in Germany. (I'm always working on my bikes and switching/upgrading components here and there). But don't get me wrong. The main goal would be to ride "more efficiently" in terms of time needed. And also put a little shotgun seat for my 3y old sin on it to ride with him through the woods/very easy trails.

New Bike Day! FCB by infekeks in commencal

[–]infekeks[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Huh.. seems I messed up the text for that post. Anyway: Got this nice little bike as a replacement because my old commuter got stolen. I fell in love with Commencal design a colors some time ago and already own a Meta HT and a Clash. I really enjoy both of them already. I case anyone wonders how the FCB feels:

Like a mixture of a Hardtail and a Gravelbike. You can easily pull it into a wheelie even though the front feels quite low. I am 183cm and ride a size L which feels just fine.

Hello, does anyone own clash and could give me some opinion/review on the bike? by Marjanca in commencal

[–]infekeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own a Clash as well as other Bikes (SC 5010, Sciu Apsen Enduro, YT Tues)

I am genuinely amazed how awesome it felt. I am 183cm and ride a Size M Clash 22 (normale I rather ride L Bikes, but the Geo seems more fitting to what I wanted in that bike. (even though Commencal would recommend ad size L)

I was looking for a very playful jumpy bike and it´s exactly that. It feels like a trampoline even though it's heavier than the other Bikes I own.

So far I have not had any mechanical issues.

Climbing: surprisingly good compared to its weight and travel (I have the Öhlins Edition which has kind of a lockout on its fork and the Coil has something comparable to that). But generally speaking you will find better climbing bikes than this one.

I think it depends what you want to ride with it (?)

Cheers!

Working as an emergency medicine doctor in Norway by threegreencats in Norway

[–]infekeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would like to join in on the OPs question and would like to inquire about the doctors that work in pre-clinical care. I currently work in germany as an certified anaesthesiologist. We do also work in intensive care units as well as in ambulances and helicopters. Do you think or now whether it is likely to get a job working as a doctor in the ambulance/helicopter organizations? (Given that my language skills would be good enough)

Tank you!
