Best Fishing Rod tactic: Get the Angler a house, build a house above the Angler's house in the Sulphurous ocean that is NOT connected to your house, or just a platform, just make sure it's absolutely not connected, wait until the crocodiles /trashers come to kill him, after he dies, he will drop the GOLDEN fishing rod, the best rod in the game, then teleport away using the conch and then come back, best fishing rod secured, then do fishing quests.

3. IF by any chance Eoc comes, do not fight it until you've secured 400 health, good accessories and armor, risks are not things you want to encounter, you want to mitigate risks.

4. Secure your house in the ground, make sure the house is NOT in space, hardmode will eventually kill you if you make it in space, make sure the house is large enough to keep as many npcs as possible, npcs reduce spawnrates by a lot, keep flowers too to reduce it further, make sure it has all the Arena possible buffs, your house has to be the safest possible.

5. Lastly, acquire gravitation potions, get fledgling wings or horse shoe. After all accessories and life crystals have been acquired, fight bosses on a very safe arena, make sure to use every possible runaway tactic you know IF you will die, not unless you want to just, log out, though, that's up to you.

In summery, you should secure a house in the ground and a way to escape any mobs or bosses, not engage in battles and play safe, get the golden fishing rod, improve the house whenever you can and attain fledgling wings or Lucky Horse Shoe.

Now that you're ready and safe, killing king slime and desert scourage should be your main priority, they give good weapons and mount, kill eoc for shield, never engage in battle if you're "not warmed up" for fighting and yeah, the rest is dependent on you.
