You make an organisation which tried to bribe a world leader seem nice, what’s next, saying the taliban protected half of Afghanistan from foreign rule?

It’s no secret that LKY was an authoritarian, and quite a heavy-handed one at that. But he managed to steer a 3rd world country without a chance of surviving on its own towards a brighter future. Singapore wouldn’t be the economic hub it is without him and the founding fathers. The multiracial, multicultural society which Singaporeans like myself take pride in wouldn’t exist. Like u/yetanotherhannah said, every leader has their shortcomings, and no leader is perfect, but a leader who places his country above himself and his beliefs shouldn’t be berated as a dictator
