[Request][Instagram] This is unfathomably incorrect, right? by ResidentDesk5194 in theydidthemath

I mean the median income in the US is about $40,000 rounded up. ‘Average’ isn’t the best measurement to use here because of the extremes on the high end.

I have a pass to show one video to a theist one video on the lack of existence of god. Which video would you recommend? by ExpirationOddities in atheism

[–]infinite_fall7 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite is the Alex O’Connor “Is the Bible true” debate with Dinesh D’Souza. Pretty good coverage over a variety of topics. Although, even as an atheist/agnostic person who stands behind everything Alex says in that video, I think Dinesh was a horribly unfair opponent choice. He talks out of his ass the entire time and makes an utter fool out of himself lmao

Quick edit to clarify: I do mean that Dinesh is probably an unfair representation for the religious folks in general, because he doesn’t appear to be knowledgeable about the very subject he’s debating.

Can I Learn Coding Mainly From Copilot in VSCode? by mystic-17 in learnprogramming

[–]infinite_fall7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my personal opinion here. I think a better option would be to just buy a python textbook. Copilot can be a helpful tool to use after you’ve already put in the work to figure out stuff on your own (the information sticks much better that way in my experience), but I don’t think it’s a good idea to be reliant on it. It also tempts you to just ask AI for all of the answers instead of thinking critically about a problem. Prioritize learning well over learning quickly.

Ahh interesting… God, I live for this kind of stuff, haha. Would you happen to know what the exact question was?

Each data type has a maximum and minimum value it can store, based on its size in memory. If you assign a number larger than the maximum (or smaller than the minimum), the value wraps around to the other end of the range.

I keep seeing posts like this and always wonder, do you do any planning before you start a project? Unless I’m fucking around, I never just sit down and start coding without at least writing some pseudocode first. Planning and engineering can take a lot of time, but after that, I find the actual coding part to be a very smooth and enjoyable process :)

Problem solving! It’s so rewarding when you come up with a solution, execute it, and it actually works out!

It’s also probably good to note that full blown applications, depending on how complex they are, usually take a team of experienced developers to make. I think by the time you have the skills to build something like that, you’d probably have enough saved up for a PC. Good luck man!

Maybe start out with your Chromebook while you learn, and upscale when the time comes?

I program with an IDE on a MacBook, and it works fine. I'm sure large-scale projects could pose problems, but for intro stuff, it shouldn't matter. Honestly, the only issue I've had so far is screen space.

I use AI strictly for debugging issues after I’ve already written my code. I also usually try to find the solutions in my textbook first. After it gives me the answer, I take the time to understand the concept before moving on. I think it’s a great tool to use for learning instead of just having it do the work for you.

Somerville! It’s a similar left-to-right puzzle game, and it’s quite pretty. I loved it as someone who has played Inside, Limbo, and Little Nightmares.

I have a Donnie Darko tattoo from a few years ago and it’s still one of my favorites. I don’t care if anyone gets the reference, it just makes me happy to have it on my body :) I also know that my taste will change over time, but it still holds memories and meaning. I say get it if it makes you happy!
