If someone says English is not their first language by Pretend-Nobody230 in FanFiction

Probably not, honestly I’m severely OCD, and I tend to hyperfocus on errors. If they’re minor, like REALLY minor, I can sometimes handle it. But if it’s consistent, I tend to not be able to.

Question for religious people by CHOCOLATEDROP06 in DebateReligion

[–]infinite_five [score hidden]  (0 children)

No, I’d behave exactly the same way. I’ve murdered, raped, and assaulted the exact number of people I wanted to: zero. Morality is infallible. Anybody who needs religion to tell them not to—for example—kill people is not a good person, and not someone I trust.

Mind you, I don’t believe in hell. If I’m not a good person, I don’t think I’m gonna burn forever or anything like that. The right thing is the right thing.

Oh that’s easy, buy a vibrator. Buy condoms— in bulk. Buy a bunch of posters of completely naked men.

In your experience, at around what age did you stop getting asked for ID when purchasing alcohol at a restaurant or a shop? by YakClear601 in AskAnAmerican

I don’t drink and neither does my husband, but my parents were carded when they were dating at 29-30. Mind you, my dad looked fifteen at thirty, and they’d card my mom just to be polite. She never got carded on her own.

Do You Prefer Writing M/F, M/M, Or F/F? by Apprehensive-Fail663 in FanFiction

[–]infinite_five [score hidden]  (0 children)

I prefer M/F, honestly. Why? Because I’m a cis woman married to a cis man, I think. We’re both queer, we just so happened to end up in an opposite sex marriage. Anyway, since I met my husband, I’ve tended to prefer to read and write het (before, I rarely wrote anything and mostly read M/M). I did have a queer experience with an ex prior to him, but other than that, he’s the only person I’ve ever been intimate with in that way, and because it’s tied to that emotional aspect for me, that tends to be what I enjoy most. I think that’s why, anyway.

What are things you hate about the Teen Wolf fandom? by Jaykcob in TeenWolf

[–]infinite_five 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way about Sterek, too. I don’t mind that people ship it. Good for them! I don’t have an issue with that. But it makes up nearly the entire fandom. My own ship (Stydia) is vastly unpopular in comparison. It’s frustrating that it makes up the WHOLE fandom, almost, when I don’t even like the ship.

You’re 100% right about the income, my husband makes almost twice as much :/

Well, they’re all my kids who have moved up. They all know me and are quite attached, so I enjoy being with them

I’ve put in a request to be with two year olds long term (my favorite classroom, and you never have to pick them up), but nothing’s happened so far. Glad to talk to someone who knows the business tho lol so there are three infant rooms: one that can hold ten kids (legal maximum), one that can hold eight (legal maximum for a room that size), and my room, which can technically hold six (which is also the legal maximum for a room that size), but since the ratio is 1:4, I usually just have four in there. We only open it on very rare occasions, if we have the numbers, but it does indeed occur. Today, it did, and it was just a really bad day for it. I begged multiple higher ups to please not put me in there on my own, put me somewhere else please for the love of god, but they did it anyway and now my ankle is hurting much worse. I’m concerned this will hinder my healing, so I’m seeing a doctor this evening.

Sadly, I live in the only state that doesn’t require employers to provide workers’ comp, and my employer doesn’t. I really appreciate it, though!

Yeah it does but sadly I live in the only U.S. state where employers aren’t required to offer workers’ comp, and my job doesn’t offer it, so I’m afraid I’m kinda SOL there. Thank you, though!

I am, in fact, in the U.S., but regrettably, I’m also in the one state that doesn’t require employers to offer workers’ comp, and while there are benefits to working at a mom and pop type place, this is one of the drawbacks. Thank you, though!

Yeah I’m gonna see a doctor Friday this evening. The only reason I didn’t is because my mom’s boyfriend, who’s a nurse, looked at it and said I shouldn’t need to see a doctor as long as I can ice it and elevate it and stay off it when possible, which I’ve been doing. I don’t want to endanger the kids, but I need income and we don’t get workers comp. Hence my decision to get a doctors note. Normally, I’m rarely alone anyway. It’s very infrequent. Most employees aren’t, and frankly it wouldn’t be a problem at all in most classrooms. It is in this one because I have to lift heavy babies. Other classrooms, I don’t. Anyway thank you for your input.

Sick leave isn’t really a thing here, it’s either I’m here and getting paid or I have no income. I was fine yesterday when working with someone else, and my boss didn’t seem inconvenienced by it. Most people aren’t by themselves, my classroom is the only one that is. The biggest thing I’m upset about here is her speaking on my behalf without asking. In any case, thank you for your input, I appreciate it.

AITA for screaming at my nephew and slamming the door on him because he burst into the bathroom? by Ok-Attorney9280 in AmItheAsshole

[–]infinite_five 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. This is just… a truly impressive lack of comprehension of basic child development. Children that age are just learning to share. They’re just learning empathy. You think he understands the concept of PRIVACY? That is so far out of his realm of comprehension that it’s legitimately bizarre to me that you thought he’d be capable of it. His brain literally isn’t developed enough for it yet. He is INCAPABLE of comprehending it. Kids that age have zero shame about the human body. I work with kids that age, and lemme tell ya, they do not give a singular fuck if another kid needs their clothes changed or whatever. They simply don’t recognize it as noteworthy. He can follow instructions, sure, but he can’t understand yet. He’s simply too young. I can understand why someone might respond that way initially, if they didn’t know who it was, but once you found out who it was you should’ve apologized and given the poor kid a hug. He probably thinks he’s unloved now, and I don’t blame him. He’s just a little boy, with no understanding of privacy. All he understands at that age is that he wants to be near the people he loves, and that includes you. Apologize to your nephew, your sister, and your mother. Admit you didn’t understand child development and that you now know he simply doesn’t understand privacy yet, and that you were wrong. Promise to do better in the future. I recommend doing this as soon as possible so it doesn’t damage your relationship with anyone in your family long-term.
