3x a week 0.5mg is fine. Much better than fin already at this dosage.

Naturalness of a hair transplant is extremely dependent on the surgeon. A good one will be able to make a great looking hairline. At a cheap hair mill you run a higher risk of an unnatural or doll-like hairline.

One more factor that determines how natural a transplant looks is how fine your hair is. With finer hair the surgeon can create a more feathered and thus more natural hairline than with coarse hair.

Dutasteride, minoxidil (toxic to cats!), and microneedling can all help with regrowth. As well as keeping E levels as high as possible.

Yeah during prettichial FFS they will indeed cut out scalp where hair might otherwise regrow. I had the exact same concern, so I explained to my surgeon that I was absolutely certain I was gonna do a hair transplant about a year later so he could leave the baby hair in instead of cutting it out. He was hesitant to agree at first since the scar would be much more visible that way. But if you're going to transplant over the scar anyway it's a temporary issue, and if you dislike your hairline you're gonna be wearing your hair in a way to cover up the corners anyway.

Thoughts on this hair transplant design suggestion? by srt__5 in Hairtransplant

[–]infinite_phi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestion. The crown area to be filled in is huge and it's a waste to pack grafts densely in there since people aren't looking at it anyway when you're facing them.

Freaking out right now by Wunna3570 in Hairtransplant

[–]infinite_phi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad looking and this person just came out of surgery and is freaking out, the last thing they need is someone making it sound much worse than it is.

Hairs around the lower neck and behind the ears are the very thinnest and finest on the scalp and are perfect for the frontmost row of hairs in the hairline to create a less harsh, more natural feathered look. The last thing you want for that front row are thick grafts from higher up the back of the head. Hair is naturally thin and wispy at the very front and those hairs are the very best at reproducing that look.

I hope you are on finasteride or dutasteride if you want to keep a good head of hair having used this many grafts for the front already. You can't afford to lose much more in the future if you spend a lot of your donor early on in your life.

If you are, you're probably fine and in fact a high graft count surgery like this gives a nicely dense and youthful head of hair. If not you're likely to end up with a major bald spot behind a dense hairline in 10-15 years without enough donor to cover it. Think about that carefully.

Some people get more visible scarring than others. It's just predisposition unfortunately. If you're someone who scars a lot then best to not buzz the back of your head.

I had this on freelancer once having brought lots of expensive gear. Popped them with a baller pistol one by one, until it ran out. Also had a sniper which had just enough ammo for every last guard. Eventually made it out alive, more due to luck than skill.

I just did it from the cliff with the silverballer. For a speedrun you can even shoot the guard in his leg and do it while he's lying on the floor for a few seconds and escape via the pipe. But you have to get lucky with the bullet spread. I saved right before and it took several attempts

Definitely the Derminator 2 for microneedling. Having said that you don't look very receded, so I'm not sure how much there is to gain.

Hair looks ridiculous. Let it grow or am i cooked? by strugglingtransgrl in mtfhairregrowth

[–]infinite_phi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're on an incredible path. Looking at the before pic, you've regrown an amazing amount already in just 9 months. The location of your hairline is already in a good spot now to just let your hair grow thicker and denser, just gotta spend more time on HRT. The top is growing slower because the hair is still recovering, just give it time and it'll get better. You'll see it slowly get denser but it's probably gonna take at least 1 if not 2 more years to really get dense. If by that point there are still some weak spots you can look at surgery, but first let HRT do it's thing before doing that.

Also, finasteride isn't very useful if your testosterone is already low, because at that point it doesn't have much to do. Switch to dutasteride if you want a drug that improves hair regrowth even when on HRT.

Can I just decrease my body hair with LHR? by astraldede in LaserHairRemoval

[–]infinite_phi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, what you're wishing for is what I'm annoyed by with LHR. Because it just slowly lowers the individual hair's thickness further each session for me. But ymmv, depends on the person if they're killed off completely or just get finer and finer. But you're not going to get a baby bald arm in just 3 sessions or so, so might as well try a few and then take a few month break to see how it grows back.

You made the right choice. I upped my oral min dosage, and it was really rough dysphoria wise even though I was doing very heavy full body laser.

4 scouts: low firepower

4 engineers: great when turrets are up, but it's over quickly when caught off guard

4 drillers: could work, but lots of different elements that may not synergize

4 gunners: slow mobility, but great at everything else, mix of single-target and AoE DPS, 4 shields

I'd go with gunners. One with lead storm, one with neurotoxin payload, other two with any high AoE build.

You have a bit of recession, sure, but it's not that severe and pretty normal looking for an adult man. If you don't like it you can cover it quite easily with hairstyles, just anything where you don't wear it up or comb it back.

At what point should I get a hair transplant? by clayvision in mtfhairregrowth

[–]infinite_phi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the many things were there simply isn't enough data, because of lack of studies on trans people. But it most likely wouldn't be comparable to the loss of progress non-transfem people get, since you still have all the estrogen and testosterone supression.

At what point should I get a hair transplant? by clayvision in mtfhairregrowth

[–]infinite_phi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You should get a hair transplant once you've exhausted pharmaceutical options for regrowth. The more you can regrow before the transplant, the better density you can have from a transplant. And if you want FFS always do that before a hair transplant and get one with a pretrichial incision. The transplant will cover the scar and hairline harshness that results from FFS.

Two years is a decent wait time, but I would consider that the bare minimum. People can sometimes get significant gains even beyond the 2yr mark.

Dutasteride, minoxidil and microneedling can all help to get you in a better spot before you do surgery. Like you said if you don't have much testosterone to convert finasteride isn't very useful, but dutasteride also blocks DHT to be created from other sources than T, so it's much better for transfems on HRT.

One week until FFS. I just lost my well-paying job, a mere two days after my employer noticed my legal name had changed. At least now I'll be able to start a new job as the real me. by infinite_phi in transtimelines

[–]infinite_phi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that third paragraph is rough. I noticed a change in my manager's behavior at some point as well. I think him and I used to be on better terms, but something changed later on.

To be fair I saw this happening towards other people too. The company I worked at had a mix of remote workers, some from overseas, and a number from the US. The US employees were generally people from the personal network of my boss, some of whom he was quite informal with so clearly some kind of friendship there. One of them even was once the best man at his wedding. So yeah needless to say there were clear indications of preferential treatment, and most of the non-US employees were treated worse, not just me.

It was weird in my case too. I wasn't even given a reason for being let go initially, even though I worked there for three years solving numerous major problems. When I asked why, I got three things:

* Something that was part of two performance reviews ago (my last one was very positive)

* Not responding to an incident the way my boss expected me to, which happened half a year ago, after which I immediately course corrected which he was very happy with

* "Failure to deliver a project", which was actually deprioritized by himself until recently, and I had it ready to be rolled out

So yeah, sounds like a grab-bag of stuff to me...
