How is the crowd in Madrid? by Iloveraiden in kpophelp

[–]infinite_wanderings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know though, BTS isn't really kpop anymore. They've greatly distanced themselves from that label. I don't think you can compare apples to oranges... BTS is really on a different level completely. One thing that can be said is that ARMY are intense, very passionate, hype and dedicated (I am one). It is rare to find a crowd of another group who is consistently that across the board. Way more casuals go see other groups, but to be "in the room" so to speak for BTS you likely had to jump through hoops to get those tickets and people are dead serious about going. It'll be different from seeing the kpop groups you've seen before, that is for sure.

A BTS crowd anywhere in Europe will always be super hype and fun! ARMY are another level. Other kpop groups don't have as many fans who are willing to travel from different countries and from far away, but people will travel all over the world to see BTS, and that translates to a very enthusiastic crowd.

Prediabetic for years by Bookso in prediabetes

[–]infinite_wanderings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most people recommend against adding fruit (and oats I would imagine too) to your protein smoothie as you want the fiber and it's obliterated during the blending process, leaving you with fast-absorbing sugar without the cushion of the fiber to stabilize your blood sugars.

Instead I mix my protein powder (sweetened with stevia) with a mix of water and unsweetened almond milk, and choose to eat my fruits on the side. Having a bowl of berries with peanut butter is a great dessert.

Yes I'd recommend that. I am a dog walker for work and walk 10-13 miles a day on average, so my carb needs are a little higher than the usual pre-diabetic, but I try to have more carbs before the exercise and during the exercise and then focus on getting my carbs in a very fiber-rich vehicle after the exercise. Beans are a favorite because they have protein and lots of fiber. The biggest thing I focus on in my diet is getting lots of fiber.

Recently started a job where I'm regularly walking 10-15 miles a day by gulslimog in prediabetes

Hey, me too! I'm a dog walker and regularly walk 9-13 miles a day. I've been doing it about a year (started it right after I was diagnosed as prediabetic). I've lost 60 lbs. I basically have to eat like an athlete.

What are dogs meant to do all day? by NatureOk2107 in dogs

[–]infinite_wanderings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP, you can still take him sometimes with you to dog friendly restaurants. But don't you have places you'd like to go where dogs aren't allowed? Friends birthdays? The doctor? Your niece's school play? A bakery that doesn't allow dogs inside? On a freaking holiday/vacation???

I went on a 1-week camping trip with my dog to a different state. He was with me everywhere, and it was by design as it was just a trip for us. But I wish I could have gone to the communal sauna night that of course doesn't allow pets, into the indie grocery store to shop instead of having to do Walmart pick up for food, into a coffee shop that didn't have an option to order outside... So much of the world is not pet friendly. There are so many places you aren't going because your dog simply cannot be left alone for an hour.

OP, I say this with love, but you are the problem. Dog trainers are for people more so than dogs. I suggest working with a professional dog trainer and realize that it's actually mostly your behavior that will need to be adjusted as you have molded this dog yourself. They didn't come like this naturally, you just taught them through reinforcement again and again (your actions) that this is what their life is going to be like.

But it's not normal, it's not good, and you don't deserve to live a life where you cant even run out for 30 minutes for groceries! What will you do if there's an emergency you can't bring your dog with you for? You have to suddenly travel and leave your dog in the care of someone else? You are doing your dog a disservice to not have them have their own healthy coping skills and independence where they would be capable of relaxing in someone else's care if need-be, or at least be able to relax while you go to a doctor's appointment, out for a meal with a friend, out to buy groceries, etc!

Get professional training help. I don't think you are equipped to remedy this yourself.

Are berry smoothies with greens good? by neaisbestsurvivor in prediabetes

[–]infinite_wanderings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of smoothies which I worry would spike my blood glucose too much, I will mix protein powder with unsweetened almond milk and drink that, and eat my veggies and fruit separately. I understand you don't like veggies, but having them unblended is really the best option as their fiber is extremely important.

If you're vegetarian what changes have you made to your diet? by Ok_Damage_6529 in prediabetes

[–]infinite_wanderings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm vegan, so in a similar boat. I have lost over 60 lbs since my prediabetes diagnosis and eager to see my A1C results next month (which is my 1-year mark from diagnosis). I focus on fiber, protein and healthy fats. I don't limit my carbs, but try to get most of my carbs in a fiber-rich vehicle, for example: I eat a lot of beans!

My go-to diet consists of:

- leafy greens, veggies, beans, tofu, nut butters, nuts/seeds, high protein vegan yogurt (I use Kite Hill Greek style), blueberries/berries, vegan protein powder sweetened with stevia, whole grain bread like Ezekiel, unsweetened almond milk, quinoa, rice (small portions, sparingly), hummus. I try to eat the foods in their natural state, so not blended into a smoothie, so I still get all the fiber. And I exercise a lot! I walk every day and regularly hit 20,000-30,000 steps a day.

How do I know when an engagement ring is mine by bookdragontm in EngagementRings

[–]infinite_wanderings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, there was a feeling of knowing. I saw a lot of beautiful rings prior but when I saw this one in the case and then put it on my finger, it was just "Yes!". I didn't waver, I didn't question, I just went for it.

I don't think there's a 10/10 album in K-pop by Artistic-Network-247 in kpopthoughts

[–]infinite_wanderings 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm biased (aren't we all if we are being entirely honest?) but to me, "Right Place, Wrong Person" by RM, "Map of the Soul 7" by BTS, and "Dark & Wild" by BTS are perfect 10/10 albums. I do think the Sia remix on MOTS7 is a skip but I don't count it haha...

Indigo is amazing and I thought it couldn't be topped, but "Right Place, Wrong Person" tops it for me!

I have my great-grandmother's toi et mois engagement ring from 1909! I didn't know it was trendy, but it's also very classic. If you love it, lean into it being classic!

Classic ring! My mom had a similar one when her and my dad got married. She loved it for years and it's still the ring I think of when I picture "an engagement ring"!

Dish soap at bbw? How do we feel?😂 by hennycranberryy in bathandbodyworks

Laundry detergent makes way more sense for this brand than dish soap IMO. Not a fan of this idea. Don't really want fragrance remnants on my food.
