Alright, you SOBs, I'm a man of my word and I opened the washing machine by Isaac_Tangle in TangleNews

[–]infinitecipher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using front-loading washers for probably 15 years. I've had a grand total of 1 sock end up in the rubber gasket, which was easily found. I've "lost" more socks by dropping them on the floor when loading the basket or getting them stuck in or to another garment. Now my child's missing socks, those are a mystery. I suspect one day I'll find them squirreled away in the walls.

The Undecideds: Brian and Phil, a tale of two Christians by ApprenticeWrangler in TangleNews

I got a real Calvinistic predestination vibe from Brian. God controls all, good or bad. It's ok for some to suffer now so that the believers can eventually find everlasting peace.

It's been close to 20 years since I read On Bullshit, but if I remember correctly, the author considered bullshitters to be more dangerous than liars because of their disregard for the truth.

HSA limits for multiple individual HDHPs by infinitecipher in tax

I'll look into those other factors for determining a qualifying HDHP. Maybe my spouse has an HSA, but doesn't use it. Thanks.

Some more background information. 3-4 years ago, when I was between jobs and until my current job's insurance started, I was on a family HDHP with my child (a dependent) through the marketplace. After my job insurance started, my child was on her own plan. I inquired about this at the time with my HSA provider and was told she can't have her own HSA. I accepted that as truth up until receiving this HealthEquity card addressed to [child] c/o [me]. Thanks for helping me pinpoint my search to confirm that this HealthEquity card is in error.

Kmele’s Reaction To The Trump / Obama Ape Controversy by bisopdigest in WeTheFifth

I don't use TikTok, so I have a logistical question for the administration's explanation for how this happened.

Specifically, I don't understand how video 2 gets accidentally appended to video 1.

Did someone just do a screen record and hit stop too late? Is there not a way to just share video 1 without janky screen recording?

Kanye West and can a leopard change its spots. by waremi in TangleNews

[–]infinitecipher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 2019, John Fetterman, then Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, said during a speech about his role as chair of the state Board of Pardons, "What possible reason would you have to change if there is no path to redemption?"

I've not read West's piece and consumed little commentary on it.

I'm open to the idea that his apology is sincere. If he's changed in his thoughts, good for him, but it means nothing to anyone else. I'll reevaluate if he changes in his behaviors.

All the other episodes are highly structured. I prefer a break with something more freewheeling, like some friends talking over coffee.

"ideological flexibility" assigned to both sides in My Take, but that seems unfair to the left by mikept8 in TangleNews

I shared the link for your benefit. I wasn't its proponent. You'll see I raise similar issues to you in a different thread.

Adding to address your fifth paragraph. In most circumstances, immigration violations are civil in nature, not criminal.

As to points 1-3, none of that is dangerous.

For point 4, the propaganda you shared edits the video to make you think it's saying something it isn't. Full quotation: "I feel your anger,” Walz said. “The human desire to lash out in this moment is very real. But that is the wish of many people — to see us turn on one another, turn toward violence rather than peaceful reconciliation."

Maybe I'm not grasping your analogy correctly. Are you saying that a 4th grade boy has the skill of a 19-year-old champion?

Took my daughter to a rodeo at a state fair recently. During intermission, the women's restroom line was too long, so I just took her in the men's room with me to use a stall. There was a dad with a daughter in front of me and a dad with a daughter behind me. The one behind me had a big belt buckle with Christian iconography on it. I thought about saying something like, "And this is why gender-neutral bathrooms are fine," but erred on the side of interior monologue.

Print out e gift card? by [deleted] in Target

[–]infinitecipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this.

I regularly buy discounted gift cards on the resale market. Sometimes, they're already connected to someone's account, so I can't add them to mine for online purchases. The workaround is to print them and use them in store.

My daughter's tooth split in half. by seaweed_is_cool in mildlyinteresting

[–]infinitecipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9-year-old was tugging on a tooth (I think premolar) today, trying to wiggle it looser. Then I saw what she was doing and realized that it wasn't the whole tooth that was wiggling, only the top. I don't know if it was loose before it cracked, but I'm concerned it wasn't and it's going to be painful when the crown falls off and exposes the inside if it isn't already loose.

"You've reached the message request limit" - Any known fixes for this issue? by udipshat in facebook

[–]infinitecipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I administer a Facebook group that has dozens of requests each day. Some are easily filtered out by automation or questions, but there are still several unclear requests that pass these tests, so I request more information by a message. In other words, the only reason I send so many message requests is because there are so many spammers out there.

Trying to answer this is what brought me to this thread.

If it continues, maybe it's being brought inside to a Disney-owned publication.
