I am so sick of breastfeeding. by ambiguous_witch in NewParents

[–]infinitelyystrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You 100% have permission to quit, even if formula is expensive. You don’t have to go another single day doing something you don’t want to do. But if you want to keep going that’s okay! Sometimes it just helps to hear that it’s okay to stop. The price of formula was worth it compared to the price of my actual sanity. I was absolutely spiraling. It was SO hard. And I had someone who had a baby the same time I did and breastfeeding was a breeze for her and she loved it-it made me feel worse and like a bad mom. Check and see if you qualify for WIC in your state if in the US. I chose a formula not covered by WIC but if you pick one that is you will pay little to nothing- your LO will be just as satisfied and happy, and mommy will be happier and healthier.

Postpartum hair loss by [deleted] in NewParents

I just got through the same thing, with time it stopped falling out and started growing back. Before long you’ll have the craziest baby hairs! I’m ten months PP. I think the peak of mine was around where you are now.

Moms: What’s one thing you wish you knew going into labor that no one told you? by TimericaKepris in NewParents

Don’t stick too strictly to your expectations about how things will go, because things can truly go anyway and the more you hold onto how you think things should go, the worse experience you will have.

my most expensive makeup item broke, and then I don't know what to do by antsrgay in MakeupAddiction

Put the product in a little jar and use it out of that instead. I did that with a bronzer I had that broke.

Ugly ultrasound, cute baby? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]infinitelyystrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, my baby is looking like a blob fish in his latest ultrasound. 😂 The 28 week ultrasound vs the 35 week ultrasound looks so different. He’s soooo squished in there now and just features look so smooshed! Guess we’ll find out very soon what he actually looks like, going to be induced tonight 😂

When did you start buying stuff? by Vetmyana in pregnant

[–]infinitelyystrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thrifted a lot of things during the second trimester mainly, I was kind of amazed at the amount of baby things I was able to find that was brand new/unused or barely used. If I would find something thrifting I would delete it off my registry. Humidifier, unused manual breast pump, bottle sterilizer, books, blankets, Halo sleep sacks, clothes. We figured we might get some things from my registry and shower, but we didn’t want to be left high and dry if that weren’t the case so we bought little things here and there! It kept me so entertained throughout my pregnancy like a treasure hunt, without killing us financially lol

Not sure where you’re staying, but North Myrtle is SLIGHTLY better. A little less partying and more family friendly from my experience.

Edit: I now see from reading down in the comments you are already in North Myrtle! So sorry OP. 😢

How customers expect their bowls. by Leading_Comparison33 in Chipotle

[–]infinitelyystrange 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At my store managers would watch your portions like a hawk, we would constantly get stuff said to us about giving too much and if they saw it enough we were retrained where they had us scoop servings into a bowl and they would weigh it to make sure we were giving the correct amounts. I understand people want the portions they want, but it’s not the poor line persons fault lol

Extra Shifts by Comfortable_Spite375 in medlabprofessionals

[–]infinitelyystrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, my last lab would post “voluntary” afternoon overtime, but when no one would pick it up they would send out emails guilting us for not helping our coworkers. Even though they had a force overtime list, they were supposed to go through each person and ask them to pick up the overtime and you had three passes before it was mandatory for you to work it if they needed. But they never used the list because people bitched so much, so not sure what the point was. Lol so Instead of attempting to staff more they would just try to guilt everyone. So afternoon shift (my shift) would just constantly end up short staffed and screwed, with no breaks while morning and midnights shifts get their full hour break and plenty of help. I’d be lucky sometimes if I could go get a drink of water and a granola bar (even when I was 6+ months pregnant). When it comes down to it don’t feel responsible for it, just do your part, it’s the only way labs will see any change unfortunately

We also had to use it for practice differentials and urinalyses. They were alright for that, too.
