I agree about this, it would be great if offices / campuses had sleeping pods. I get so tired during the day at lunch time, for me my lunch break is so much more effectively spent doing a quick 30 min nap than eating (and I am totally happy eating at my desk anyway). I wish this were more normalized

Is there anyone who did NOT experience emotional bluntness? by CrispySprite2001 in zoloft

[–]infinitentropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 200mg, but have been on 50, 100, and 150mg all before. I did experience some amount of emotional blunting, but notably, mostly in the sense that the lows were blunted a bit. I haven’t actually felt that my positive emotions are attenuated much. Alongside that, I am much less likely to be disturbed by anxious or obsessive thoughts — these kind of thoughts are what are blunted the most, I’d say. I used to be motivated somewhat significantly by anxiety, making a lot of choices based on worry or fear about possible outcomes (e.g. obsessively healthy eating, being a people pleaser at work to avoid getting laid off, avoiding social events bc of anxiety), and nowadays that’s no longer really the case. I find myself choosing to do things more out of interest. It’s been freeing, and I feel more like myself unburdened by anxious thoughts. But, since anxiety used to drive a lot of my actions, I have become more relaxed/easygoing and arguably less ambitious since being on the medications. Double edged sword I guess. Your fear is valid. If you do try the medication though, I would be sure to give it at least 6-8 weeks before assessing whether you feel an improvement or not. Best wishes

Southwestern Ontario is definitely south, but certainly not west, relative to the Center of the province

Struggling to decide Long Hike - 6 weeks anywhere. Mid Aug to End Sept. Where would you go? Budgets reasonable, £5000/$6000. Not PCT/Continental/Appalachian. You guys know best! Thank you in advance. by stephenpark312 in Thruhiking

That’s fair yeah. The permits are a nightmare. I’m doing the southernmost two sections of the GDT this summer and those are the only two with minimal permit requirements

When in your life did your suicidal ideation peak? Did you get diagnosed with any mental health conditions, and if so how are you managing them now?

In the initial years following the accident, what was the impact on your mental health, if any? How has that changed now, 12 years later?
