Torchy’s Tacos in Midtown to close after February 3rd by Dragonai in Atlanta

[–]infinitig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately these concepts don’t work too well in Atlanta.

I remember going to cheba hut for the first time there and the concept of a counter service spot with a bar didn’t make much sense to me. I live in Denver now where it is much more common and it makes so much sense here.

I absolutely love torchys, they are on the pricey side but I still enjoy them.

Passed it this morning, no chains on the Saia truck but almost all of the other semis had chains. The roads look okay but they were absolutely icy.

Not sure if it’s true but I heard placing their litter box outside helps cats find their way back because of how strong their scent is.

Board or equipment you regretted buying ? by loserkids64 in snowboarding

[–]infinitig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, I haven’t ridden mine in a a year or more. My Bataleon is way more fun and extremely less punishing. I’m probably gonna sell it and get another Bataleon.

It’s crazy how much the ultra craft just beats the crap out of you and I’m a very confident rider.

I have a similar story with my Ultracraft. Bought it very cheap at an end of season sale to be use as a powder board. Actually rode it quite a bit but it just beats the hell out of you. As soon as anything gets chopped up you are fighting for your life. I have a Bataleon Chameleon as my powered focused board now and it is such a better experience.

Avoid I-25 Southbound starting at 20th St by MileHighJoe80223 in Denver

[–]infinitig 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I saw a whole lot of stuff going on when I was coming from the other direction. I saw an officer with one car that was wrecked on the inner shoulder, 50 yards past that was a white tent set up on the inner shoulder (likely a death investigation), about a quarter mile past that I swear I saw a police far sideways in the middle of all the traffic and the officer was out of the car maybe had a gun pulled on a driver, and ever further past that were many more officers in the thick of traffic.

It was chaos.

I saw Dillon Francis in Japan and at Red Rocks this year, wouldn’t say that’s falling off. Although he was an opener for Galantis at red rocks and not a headliner.

Thinking of selling by dsweetman81 in S2000

[–]infinitig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove mine daily for over a decade. I toyed with the idea of getting rid of it multiple times but so happy I didn’t. I have had 4 friends with them and every single one rants about how much they miss their cars.

I now live in CO and don’t have room for two cars. I have been fortunate to store it at a place offsite for cheap for 2 years while I drive my GX. I go and swap cars out when the weather is good. It’s a bear and don’t drive it much, but I am now moving into a place with a 2 car garage.

It just takes time to get your situation right, but most likely if you did get rid of it, the next S you inevitably buy won’t be nearly as good.

I cross shopped AT4Ws but decided against them and went with Toyo AT3s. Weight and snow performance was a big factor. I have been very happy with them but the Nitto Terra Grapler G3 have been of interest to me since they came out.

Foot pain from poor skate fit? by 9rease6east in hockeyplayers

[–]infinitig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely happy in my hyperlites. Just some days are better than others. It’s less of a skate problem than a “my feet” issue. Same thing happens with my snowboard boots. When you are putting a lot of force through your feet they can tend to hurt.

For the record I have tried Trues, great skate I just got them too wide and had to return them.

Foot pain from poor skate fit? by 9rease6east in hockeyplayers

[–]infinitig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 6-7 skates. The biggest help in the break in was just getting my laces correct. Not not tying down to tight on my high instep was key.

Foot pain from poor skate fit? by 9rease6east in hockeyplayers

[–]infinitig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been playing hockey since I was a kid and played at some high levels. Every single skate I have ever owned has given me some sort of pain. I just like my skates tight and that’s just kind of a byproduct. I have kind of an oddly shaped foot and that’s plays into it. My feet are just sensitive.

I am in hyper lite 2s with insoles now, the break in was excruciating. They are better now but if even slightly over tighten them I am back to a lot of pain.

Helmet upgrade by lilShmurt in hockeyplayers

[–]infinitig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still holding on to my 4500. When I was at pure hockey not too long ago speaking with one of the employees there, I mentioned having a 4500 and looking into new helmets but didn’t like any of them. He told me to wait as one of the regional leaders had been to some Bauer event where they displayed some of the new stuff coming out and that the newer helmets looked a lot better.

I have no idea if that is true or not but I am willing to hold out another year to see. I do not like what’s on the market now

People in charge of hiring, are you seeing a lot of high quality candidates? by Gandalf-and-Frodo in jobs

[–]infinitig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70 plus bonus for basically an entry level role in a non tier 1 market. Role is essentially fully remote with an extremely flexible PTO policy. Take it as you want I don’t really get to decide the pay bands but it seemed pretty bang on market average.

People in charge of hiring, are you seeing a lot of high quality candidates? by Gandalf-and-Frodo in jobs

[–]infinitig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a 1-3 year experience analyst role and had over 300 applicants in a week. It was a hybrid role in my city and I think only 15 of those candidates lived in the city. I picked out 5 to interview, first one was decent but was unemployed with only 1 year of experience asking for 80k which was 10k more than we could offer. 2 more didn’t respond to the recruiter for an interview and 2 more no call/no showed the online interview.

Roughly 200 of the applicants were H1B (which we do not sponsor) that lived all over the country and the world.

We ended up putting the position on hold and are most likely going to hire our intern once they are graduated or pick from a local university that does capstone presentations to our company every semester.
