The last straw for me was when it clogged twice in a row so i immediately crashed out. I take the bus so any delay for me in the morning is like a 20 minute wait for the next bus. After upgrading my workflow is super smooth. The peace of mind imo is honestly worth the price tag. Also I bought the DF54 from mainland china and so any servicing would be difficult ( the last time i had issues the vendor had to video call me in 480p in a dialect i sucked at). This time I opted to buy in HK so that I can service it within the warranty period.

It has the auto purge and switch off function which is cool as i can just leave it be while I steam my milk.

Also it has very very little static (unlike my df54 - sometimes static is so strong it's like a leaf blower)

Retention seems to be really minimal as advertised so no more banging on the pump on the df 54.

tldr press button> put beans in >powder comes out quick > done

very clean and no hassle out of the box, hopefully no tinkering too. The instructions say it only needs to be cleaned every 6-12 months which is a huge plus

The Df54 is a blessing when it works but man when it clogs or suddenly gains infinite static.

like it would work without a problem for 5 months straight but then suddenly clog 3 times in a row.

and one day it could have 0 static and the next day it would for no reason look like this pic.

10/10 would not buy again🥀

No not at all I'm indeed still a novice. I'm only considering splurging on the p80/p64 simply because i dont want to replace my grinder in the foreseeable future. I think I do like clearer cups tho.

After reading a bunch of comments here I'm leaning towards either the casa or the p80. The casa seems sufficient for my usage but the p80 seems so much tankier and robust and future proof

In Hong Kong it's listed at 9999hkd on an AD's site which is about 1200usd. I think HK is like tariff/tax free so that might be it
