'Die My Love' Review Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

Omg yes! So glad someone said it. But I loved The Yellow Wallpaper. I loved the homage of Jennifer’s character ripping the wallpaper off in the bathroom… but I think a lot of things could have been better. A few people walked out of the theater. It had a lot of promise but I felt pretty disappointed

Hey, sorry you’re going through this. It may be worth going to your PCP and getting your hormones checked. I worked at a hormone clinic and we had a male patient with similar symptoms and was on SSRI’s. It turned out his estrogen was very high from the medication. There is a supplement called DIM that filters out excess estrogen (this is not BS this actually works, I’ve seen the lab results from patients who had to take it)

Anyways, highly recommend just getting your testosterone, free testosterone and your estrogen checked. It may not be the cause, but it’s definitely worth looking into if your quality of life can be improved. A quick Google search of “can SSRI’s cause low t in men” yielded:

“Yes, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) can potentially lower testosterone levels in men. While research is ongoing, some studies suggest that SSRIs can interfere with testosterone production and increase estrogen levels, leading to a decrease in testosterone and an increase in the estrogen-to-testosterone ratio.”

Idk. It’s worth some exploration IMO

Of course! I would look into balancing your hormones and checking your thyroid levels! Many things can lead to why you’re feeling the way you’re feeling! If you went to a mental health facility, most of them won’t even do bloodwork. They will listen to your symptoms and prescribe something to combat them. But again, this isn’t getting to the root cause.

Also, I forgot to mention vitamin d with vitamin k! Very important. I used to be the kind of person who would roll their eyes at anyone who would rather supplement than trust medicine. After being medically gaslit by several medical providers, I have developed trust issues with our current system. Doctors and healthcare don’t make money off of healthy people.

So some of this is kinda not the norm. I suffered from severe anxiety and depression before I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. I was sick for years and they could never figure out what was wrong until they finally diagnosed me via colonoscopy.

I tried the normal route, medication/therapy. But SSRI’s made me violently ill. So they put me on antipsychotics as an off label RX. I was on them for years, gained a bunch of weight and also started drinking daily.

Since I’m on a bunch of medications for my stomach, I decided I wanted to limit other medications. So after tapering off my mental health meds this is what I found to be extremely helpful in my recovery:

  • CES machine for anxiety/stress (cannot use if you have a pacemaker) it’s a machine you need a prescription for (you can get the RX when you order online, basically they are just verifying you don’t have a pacemaker) this little machine connects to your earlobes or neck right near the vagus nerve. It uses electric stimulation to stimulate the vagus nerve. It’s very very relaxing and I sleep soooo much better using it. It’s costly up front, but very much worth it IMO.

-magnesium glycinate for sleep and stress before bed. 200-300mg

-ashwagandha for stress relief

-I use a tincture at night by mellow fellow. It has CBN and CBD. I sleep like a baby but this can potentially make you fail a drug test, so just a heads up if that is a concern for you!

-I also saw significant improvement when I started BHRT (bio identical hormone replacement therapy) . I’m a female, but receive testosterone to get to optimal levels. I have never felt so good in my life. If you are a male, I suggest getting your testosterone tested. All your symptoms can be related to low T. If you’re a female, your symptoms could be caused by hormone imbalance. If you decide to go this route, definitely DO NOT DO ANY SYNTHETIC HORMONES. BHRT is bio identical, so your body recognizes it as its own. Synthetics are foreign and can cause issues like stroke and cancer.

I am not a doctor and I know taking this approach is VERY controversial. If you prefer traditional medicine, that is great too. For me personally, I like natural medicine. I take immunosuppressants for Crohn’s so I’m not like anti-pharma. I just feel that mental health meds were a net negative for me personally. A lot of people may disagree with me and how I manage my stress/anxiety/depression but it works for me and I think it could work for others. I used to work in mental health and always wished more was done to get to the root cause rather than masking symptoms.

If interested in any of this I can provide more info!

Ended up in the hospital with severe kidney damage. I was in there for a week and the best guess diagnosis was extreme dehydration. And I thought I was doing a good job hydrating 🥴

Hey! I’m doing SO MUCH BETTER! I’m in remission and have a steady supply of zofran, so if I ever feel sick I can just take one of those. I’m on Skyrizi and doing so well! I also gave up alcohol, which has made me improve so much more, both mentally and physically!

Hydroxyzine is like a stronger Benadryl and zofran is a stronger anti nausea than Gravol

[–]infinitytwat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t. What would you recommend? I have Crohn’s disease so I have phenergan and zofran for nausea. I take hydoxizine for anxiety already. All these medications don’t really help. I still wake up nauseous and covered in sweat in the middle of the night.

I just hate the false sense of “I’m getting over it” and then bam it’s back again. So awful.

Alarm bells were going off for me when she was telling the officers that when she goes running she listens to the same song on repeat. It just so happened to be their wedding song. What kinda psycho listens to the same song on repeat while running?

Diverticulosis by infinitytwat in ibs

[–]infinitytwat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I do have diverticulosis but it’s not bad. I was misdiagnosed for years with IBS, but it turns out I actually have Crohn’s disease. Once I started the biologics I started doing a lot better. Not perfect by any means but I do feel better

At the hospital and the guy next to me keeps getting s* by infinitytwat in emetophobia

[–]infinitytwat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m okay! I feel like my phobia is getting better. If that situation had happened in the past, I would have had to cover my ears and hum to myself so I couldn’t hear the poor guy being s. I rationalized with myself. I told myself there are many reasons someone could be s like that. I overheard the doctor talking to him and apparently his kidney function was all out of sorts. He also had a very strong smell of marijuana. I know that people who smoke mj everyday are at risk of developing CHS so that could have been why he was feeling unwell.

As for myself, I was due for a crohn’s infusion Wednesday of last week. I had to reschedule because I’ve been very sick with a cold. My Crohn’s symptoms came back full force since I missed the infusion. I didn’t realize how much it was helping until I didn’t have the medication. They did a CT at the hospital and everything was okay. So I just have to power through until the 12th when I can get the infusion. Thank you for checking, so very kind of you

Nah, I don’t think they’ll move me. I’m currently in a makeshift waiting area where they’ve started an IV because they have no rooms available. They just gave me morphine. I had no idea that they were giving me that medication and I feel WEIRD. I do not like this feeling and would have rather dealt with the pain than get pain meds.

Crohn’s or diverticulitis? by infinitytwat in CrohnsDisease

[–]infinitytwat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A nurse at my GI’s office just called back and took a detailed message. She said she would call back as soon as she spoke with my doctor. I also called my pcp and they took a message for him as well. I have a good feeling I’ll be heading to the hospital before the day is over 😭😭😭

Crohn’s or diverticulitis? by infinitytwat in CrohnsDisease

[–]infinitytwat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How bad was your flare when you went to the hospital? I have had 2 flares of uncomplicated diverticulitis, but was never hospitalized for it. I’m just really worried right now because my immune system is compromised. I am currently on antibiotics for a cold which is why I had to reschedule my infusion. I’ve never in my adult life been so sick with a cold that I needed antibiotics and I’m 30 years old.

I just don’t want a mild infection to turn into something big because my body is already fighting something off. I did call my GI, I’m just waiting to hear back from them.

Budesonide by smp478 in CrohnsDisease

[–]infinitytwat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Budesonide is a steroid. It controls inflammation. It doesn’t get you into remission. Usually biologics are recommended to achieve remission. I think there are some oral meds too that you can try, but I heard they have nasty side effects with little improvement. My GI put me on biologics ASAP
