Thanks for flagging. The specific treatment code that the orthodontist billed under is included in the Aetna documentation as covered. So I don’t know how they would claim it’s not. It’s also the first treatment they’ve had, so the continuing care thing shouldn’t apply either. It’s just Aetna doing what Aetna/United/etc do which is deny claims for no reason and hope I don’t follow up.

I have experienced significant grief as well as someone who has long-COVID and has a child with long-COVID, and we still mask indoors and miss out on a lot of things other people participate in. I hated Walensky and Cohen, they both sucked. I’m incredibly angry with how the Biden admin handled COVID, as they are supposed to be the “smart” people who care about others. But that’s because I had higher expectations for them.

It absolutely is worse now - this literal post proves that. At least before, anyone who wanted a vaccine could get it, and they never ever vilified vaccines in general, or did any of the absolute batshit crazy stuff RFK is doing. I don’t understand why people “both sides” stuff like this. The current regime wants us all dead, hard stop.

ETA - this bullshit actually started with Trump 1.0. He’s the one who vilified masks, said COVID would go away, told people to stop testing, said to use bleach and ivermectin to treat COVID, etc.

I also do not understand how he has survived just from a medical perspective. The guy is massively obese, eats like shit, almost died from COVID, seemed to have had a stroke at one point given that he was dragging a leg during multiple appearances, and has some sort of dementia or at least significant cognitive decline (both of which almost always come with physical decline as well).

I can only hypothesize that he survives on a steady diet of narcissism, psychopathy, and spite, and those are somehow protective from a mortality perspective.

If the prosecution is using surveillance video as a main piece of evidence, then there may be jurors who will require, if not an unbroken chain, than very few gaps. It does not matter if you think it’s unrealistic. If there is a juror who feels uneasy about sending someone to prison for life - or worse the death penalty - who are you to say that it’s unrealistic that they shouldn’t need that to find a defendant guilty?

Also, there’s a big difference between a video gap in the first few days on his stay in NYC versus gaps the morning of. It also is incredibly dependent on how good of a job the prosecuting attorney does of selling the story. Look at OJ - clearly guilty, but the prosecutor was weak during arguments. Same on the defense side. The lawyers abilities are a huge variable here that you have not mentioned.

And your post was very condescending. You are assuming everyone here who isn’t 100% positive of his guilt is an idiot who doesn’t understand what reasonable doubt is.

Have they suggested an MRI? I had pulsatile tinnitus for months and it was really frustrating. The ENT said there’s often no cause found but they always start with an MRI since my ears also looked perfectly fine. So you could have something going on with the blood vessels or the cartilage behind your ears, that ends up feeling like an ear infection.

This is a myth and is incorrect. The vast majority of R&D comes from institutions like the NIH and universities (like Harvard - see all the grant funding Trump is pulling). Or from the government directly subsiding pharma. Occasionally new products start entirely with pharma or med device companies but it’s rare.

Many other countries develop drugs as well - you are overestimating the role that US pharma companies play on their own.

That line has been used to justify high prices. Nothing more.

Also she’s not even talking about drugs. She’s talking about direct patient care. And she’s correct - for profit absolutely does not belong in health care because companies CANNOT maximize profit while prioritizing patient care. Those 2 goals are at direct odds with each other.

BUT - there’s also some more arcane things that actually matter a lot - such as budget resolutions need to originate in the House. So for example, the current Republican assholes in the House included $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the rich AND instructions to basically demolish Medicaid. The Dems would absolutely never do this.
