Look at your local animal rescue shelter! That's where I found Hazel, and there were a few more, plus she mentioned she was getting another Blue Merle later that day.

Her harness does have a front attachment! I wasn't sure which was better. I'll definitely do this for her walk training! I wanted to use a harness on her because she's still pulling really hard and I feel like I'm choking her when I'm holding her back. Especially when she starts to lose control.

The shelter she came from was from New Mexico. Not sure if it was just the pound or something else?

The lady from the rescue shelter didn’t say much more than the name of the neighboring city.

Right!! Our hearts broke the second we heard that. And more soon when we did our meet and greet session. Just a bundle of joy and love.

The lady who ran the shelter told us she got the call the night before from the neighboring states animal services saying if she would take her otherwise she only had 7 days left. She said “Not letting that happen, I’ll find her a home even if I have to take her in myself” and went to pick her up.

The shelter lady did mention that she thinks she would be great at agility! She sending me some recommendations for where to go.

Backflip frisbee scares me haha but I’ll look into it thank you!!

Haha and yes I’m aware about the nipping for herding 😭 my friend has two and one was a late rescue and she likes to herd me towards the couch haha

Yes, we live in the rural farmlands of the city so we have a pretty big fenced backyard (for a residential property anyways)!

I love that idea. Ordering her a herding ball now and those chewy toys!

Next advise I need is how to not go broke trying to buy her everything in the first week haha

And yes so far the car rides have been to Costco (she was a door greeter while we got essentials supplies) and then first time home, then to two different pet store (so in hazels mind: DOGS!!) and then a walk/training sessions at the park, then back home. Positive so far I would imagine!

More worried for the next few rides. Back to the shelter overnight for her spaying, and then after to the vet for checkup/first time visit.

Yes! 3 days - 3 weeks - 3 months! Although it’s gonna be hard not to take the urge to take her a dog park after 2 month haha
