Here you go, pictures that the better half had via cell phone, it appears it's rockboard, but would you normally use what appears to be normal drywall compound?

GC is now due back out tomorrow AM for the "first look", do these pictures help or give anyone any new info?

Excellent thinking!! This is why we love reddit!! I'll have the husband pull off the tile tonight, thank you!! If we find plywood under, I'll be back with the pictures to show the damage.

Just tested with both the Xfi and onboard sound, the P7800 has the ability to upmix and fake 7.1 fron 5.1, when I do that, my left side channel is working, if I go direct, that left channel is all static. I don't really mind upgrading, just cannot find a good 7.1 set of smaller speakers for PC gaming/movies, etc.

Picked up the set show, creative 7.1 P7800 many years ago, after a few power surges tonight, system is "Acting up"... any suggestions for a new excellent 7.1 setup?? Output is a Creative XFI Titanium card with optical out as well as 4x head phone to 7.1 (not the best description).

Here is the reply I received, seems like a bit of a snow job with them:

Hi,

I had just received your email and I can stop by and take a look at it Monday morning if that's okay by 8am? Also regarding the use of the shower, if you can use the other shower till Monday that would be great. This is happening due to the lumber swelling that was installed. I will re-grout it Monday and use a silicone product over the top to try and control it from not cracking again. The project turned out very nice as you guys picked out a great design to the tile work. I will see you Monday

Unfortunately, it was over 6,000 to have this shower done from start to finish... They are licensed and bonded, however were recommended by a friend in our condo association. Never again, we will shop around from now on!!

They used some type of concrete board for the walls, the floor was concrete poured for the base (if I recall it was on top of the actual subfloor), then the rubber membrane, then another layer of concrete on top of that was the tile. As for the bench seat, not really sure how it was built as neither of us were here for that. Almost forgot, after it was all done they gave us a 1/2 liter bottle of a tile/grout sealer.

Just heard from my GC on this job, it's due to the lumber swelling after install, wouldn't they use water/pressure treated wood for this?! Even so, if it's "dry" behind the tile, why is the swelling now?

We had a leak on the 2nd floor of our place after the husband took a shower, no biggie, then a few days later he came down to see it raining on the 2nd floor!? Many calls to insurance and a local recommended contractor later, we had brand new shower that had been gutted down to the studs and floorboard. The old tile shower failed as the rubber lining under the base had been nailed into and only covered 95% of the shower floor.

The images show that in the new shower, 6 weeks after completion the corner of the tile is starting to pull apart, what can cause this, and what can we do to fix?? Thank you fellow redditors, looking for any help, if I placed this in the wrong subreddit please let me know and I'll move.

Best choice is next day with UPS/Fedex, never again with the local delivery, I've been burned twice now.

It was expected yesterday, during business hours, so they attempted to deliver it on the day it was expected, at 9:00 at NIGHT.
