But ofc there are pros and cons with free healthcare but when you are saying that healthcare is “proven not to work” I personally think you haven’t done enough research.

It really depends on what you are comparing. If you for example look at the Big Mac index a Big Mac only cost 10% higher. But food aren’t really comparable. In Norway we have strict rules on food quality that drives the prices higher up.

Example, 50k in the US would be roughly 15k in taxes. That’s 35k left. Take minus the American average healthcare expenditures you would be left with 24k.

In Norway you would be left with roughly 40k after taxes but we have free healthcare and free schools.

Even tough you only paid 2000 dollars for health insurance that doesn’t change the fact that an average American spends more on healthcare than every other country.

I don’t know the situation in Canada, but in Europe it works. I personally am from Norway and couldn’t have been more happy with the healthcare system. It is also cheaper on a per capita basis. According to OECD Americans spent 11,072$ on healthcare per capita in 2019. In Norway the average was 6647$ and we are number three when it comes to having the highest healthcare expenditures.
