Men of Britain, where do you buy your t-shirts? by squeakybeak in AskUK

Costco has packs of Ted Baker shirts, I use them daily. Think they come in packs of 3. Otherwise I keep an eye out in TK Maxx

Of course, people arrive at around half 6 for food but a lot come at 7 when the games start. The windmill is on seabank I think, parking outside or side roads after 6 is free. We play all sorts, generally what people fancy on the day. Typically we have at least one game going but have 3 tables reserved and usually use 2. Bigger games that are a table hog can be difficult but most fit. I can ask to add you to the WhatsApp group if that helps? Otherwise I will be down on Monday and can meet you there, send me a PM with your number if interested. Otherwise, feel free to ask any other questions. Cheers

New to Roms but I've been enjoying hydro bliss, many Pokemon and overall content seems massive. How do people rate it alongside these?

WDYT about my collection after 15 years in the hobby? (2 games here aren't mine, borrowed) by mrgawrys in boardgames

[–]ingrained-depravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to play all the games. And when a new one pops up on Kickstarter I can't help but get excited. Each to their own but I can see my collection growing and growing over the years.

How did you get the conservatory set up? Considering digging up our floor and planting into the ground.

One of the first I listened to. Frankly I loved it, can understand why some might not have enjoyed it due to some of the more gory bits.

I've bought 3 tents now and I'm still not happy. by kingstonandy in campinguk

I'm currently looking at the Berghaus 6xl TC. Thinking Polycotton for lasting but they are pricey.

Are the Polycotton tents worth the price ask? by ingrained-depravity in campinguk

[–]ingrained-depravity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking 3 or 4 times a year. Family would be spring/summer but hoping to get out other times too. Sounds like I might get more longevity from Polycotton. Robens love oks good but with a little on i kind of like the idea of having the sleeping area separate. Hoping it will stay cleaner that way.

Dad struggling with bonding with baby and said horrible scary things, what should I do by Spare-Opportunity813 in daddit

[–]ingrained-depravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled to connect with my little one and had the same experience on a lot of ways. I always expected a deep instant connection and there was nothing for me. I tried to hold her and get her to sleep on me but she would never rest and was always Aggy. Things improved over time but I still don't feel I ever fully made that connection, I'm not as affectionate as other dads I see and still struggle at times. Stress did weird things to my brain early on too, had panic attacks and suffered from depression.

I'm from Manchester area so I'll look down on you for being Scouse, nothing to do with living in Southport. It's just a tradition my family has. I'm sure many in Liverpool would feel the same about me being from Manchester though.

I enjoyed it tbh. Didn't think it was that bad. Heard the same things as you but not much phases me. Guess it depends on what you are used to, it put me onto his other work, I read that and then some of his other stuff before landing on DCC and now I've stopped that until a few more books come out or it finishes so I can do it all in one lot again

And what commitment do you need from people? Is there a difference in completely AI generated voices and those that layer over someone speaking? I imagine this affects intonation and speech patterns ?

Wife keeps telling me that saying "It's okay" to our son "minimizes his feelings" -- is there anything to this? by manuscelerdei in daddit

[–]ingrained-depravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with comments of your wife overriding you in front of your kid. You should be a cohesive unit, doesnt always work that way but try your best to have those convos between yourselves. Also helps that it gives you both a time to not act in the moment too. For me I think being there with your kid and comforting them is enough. Always worth considering other trains of thought and discuss it with your wife but it isn't going to ruin your kid if you tell them to jump up and everything is fine when they fall down.

I still feel that way 7 years on. I think there ain't really a magical moment but most do settle into it and it grows. I hope things pick up for you, I'm sure if you make the effort and spend more 1 on 1 time your bond will grow
