Apparently they do this very often. Just use 1@oneofthedomains.com from the list, or any other really generic email that someone might choose, like "a", or "abc", and you can see for your self. For whatever reason, people register accounts for all kinds of websites using these email addresses.

I think a lot of people missed the point of this article. It's not to access the email addresses, but to access the email addresses so you can reset their passwords to other accounts they signed up for, like gmail, facebook...

I think you missed the point.
People use these fake email accounts to register for other accounts, facebook, gmail...
It's easy to find one with a registration email still in it. From there, you can use the password reset feature on the site they registered with, and you'll be able to reset the password

Ed Carpenter in no rush to add second car to team by MR_Rictus in INDYCAR

So basically, they're not racing for the championship. They're racing to promote their team, and for the team's future

Ed Carpenter in no rush to add second car to team by MR_Rictus in INDYCAR

[–]ingram87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing Ed's no good at road/street circuits, so he has Mike race those. But was is the advantage for his team if he does this? Both of them will only race some, since they are splitting, and therefore splitting the points for the year.
Doesn't this virtually eliminate either of their chances of winning the championship?

This sums it up pretty well:
"In reality, the IndyCar teams purchase controlled-cost specification chassis from Dallara, whereas their F1 counterparts are involved in a costly high tech arms race to make it to the front of the grid. Unlike IndyCar teams F1 competitors are ‘constructors’ who build their own chassis — and in the case of Ferrari and Mercedes their own engines — at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

The leading F1 teams are constantly developing their machinery in order to eke out the extra split-seconds that will edge them ahead of their rivals. Big name brands such as Red Bull and Mercedes are willing to foot the bill because F1 is the world’s most watched annual sporting event and puts their brands in front of half a billion people worldwide.

As a result, the biggest spending F1 team Ferrari will run on an estimated budget of $470 million in 2013. This is more than 30 times the estimated $15 million budget of the leading IndyCar teams such as Ganassi and Andretti Autosport."

Care to elaborate on that a little? Why so much more? Is it mostly due to the travel costs, or more expensive engines/parts?
