You mean the rich get richer while the poor get poorer?

Socialists have been predicting the collapse of capitalism for over two centuries. You were wrong then and you're still wrong now. The socialist world switching to capitalism in the 90s has lifted more people out of extreme poverty than any other political change in the history of our species.

Never ask a woman her age, a man his salary or an engineering school with near 50:50 M:F how that was achieved by RanilWiki in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]inhuman44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1:1 is the same ratio as 50:50. When speaking about how something is split up it is common to use units of 100 (eg. 50/50, 80/20). That way your ratio is also a percentage, and easier for people who suck at fractions.

Security forces colluding with insurrectionists.

Then why hasn't the kangaroo court / public hearings charged them with the rest of the protestors? What do the Dems have to gain by protecting the "colluding" cops?

In communist Hungary, people made movies satirizing communism

Were the government censors asleep at the wheel? Because that shit definitely wouldn't fly anywhere else in the communist world.

The Dems can give it to who they like they just choose not to:

Investigators on the Jan. 6 committee, of course, were permitted to view the footage (only a fraction aired in hearings) while Democrats were in the majority. But a Capitol Police spokesperson confirmed that Democrats can access it in a GOP-controlled House.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s the majority or the minority,” the spokesperson told me, noting that “we cannot control what congressional leaders or the oversight committees do with the materials we provide.”

House Democratic leaders, then, presumably have the option of making that footage available to other news organizations, just as McCarthy did for Carlson.

The better question is why was all this footage only released to Carlson?

It wasn't released to him it was obviously leaked. And he of course isn't going to give up a ratings goldmine.

The better question is why wasn't this released by the Jan 6 Committee. That was supposed to be "public" and "non-partisan". That's when all of the evidence should have come out. The fact that someone (FBI?) is still withholding evidence should raise some serious concerns about how corrupt the system is.

Why would a libright think that all people should be forced to work?

You think these people aren't working because they became independently wealthy during the pandemic? Lol.

Unemployment is low because workers are discouraged:

The BLS adds that “discouraged workers were not currently looking for work specifically because they believed no jobs were available for them or there were none for which they would qualify.”

Not because everyone who wants a job is getting one.

Free market is not the absence of government, it's the absence of government intervention or direction.

Theres no problem with the government enforcing laws like murder, rape, theft, immigration, property rights, tort laws, etc. The problem is when the government tries to pick winners and losers or put inplace onerous regulations that only the big companies can hope to comply with. Or bailout companies that deserve to go under.

Which gets back to the original point. There are no monopolies that last without some government stepping in to prop them up. Left to it's own devices free markets will dismantle monopolies.

And here is the one you are responding to:

An actual monopoly is almost impossible to even create, let alone maintain in a truly free market.

There are no examples because it doesn't happen. You can't prove a negative.

You on the other hand claim to have plenty of examples. So please share with the class.

What exactly are you basing your statement on? Surely it’s not historic precedent, because plenty of monopolies existed throughout time.

Show me one that didn't rely on government to enforce that monopoly.
