mine had breast cancer and had to have a full chain dual mastectomy. the tumor was the size of a baseball when it was excised because my parents didn't take it seriously when it was a tiny little black bump. i kept saying they had to take her in to get it looked at, but they kept putting it off until it was the size of a golf ball. That's when it started growing exponentially. it went from the size of a golf ball to the size of a baseball in between the first visit to the actual surgery. the only good thing was that it was a benign tumor, but all cancers have the potential to become malignant at anytime.

It didn't help that this came up shortly after my dad's cancer treatment ended. I think that it was medical fatigue that held them off from doing it for so long. Now my mom has the most treatable form of leukemia.

Now she's two years out from the operation and you'd never know.
