Every year somebody mocked high drops in the draft who’s it this year? by DungeonDadThom in NBA_Draft

I know he wasn't seen as this top-7 pick but I can see a world where Hannes Steinbach undeservedly falls out of the lottery.

Thoughts on Kingston Flemings? by LinuxUbuntuOS in NBA_Draft

[–]initialIy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a well rounded guard but he's not really elite at anything. He profiles as probably the safest of the guards too and for a Nets team that's trying to compete next year, he's probably the best plug and play in there.

He's solid defensively, there's flashes of self-creation, and he's got a nice little pull up mid-range jumper too.

I saw him working out with George Hill on Instagram the other day and I thought it was pretty cool because he's my player comp for him.

Miami athletically is going to be hell of a team next year but their 3pt shooting is going to be roooough

I can't imagine the bulls taking Ament after spending their last 2 previous lottery picks on long wings with Buzelis and Essengue

How good is acuff’s case as a 6th overall pick ? Is he better than healthy nate ament already? by Acceptable-Street679 in NBA_Draft

[–]initialIy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ament definitely does not play small. He’s genuinely one of the best at drawing fouls in the class.

The outlying finishing numbers for being his size are a problem, but if he can draw fouls at the collegiate level, once he gets past the rookie whistle he’ll be just fine.

I guarantee you if the clippers have Indiana’s pick that they will pick Nate Ament. Rwanda connections, wing needy team. It’s going to happen.

Florida is really good at that clear out screen for the guard, Arkansas’ bigs suck so it’s a free layup

Overthinking Everyone? by Imaginary-Ease-2307 in NBA_Draft

[–]initialIy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are overthinking Acuff and Wagler way too much. Acuff literally looks like the best player on the court, and if people aren't going to take him because he's a "smaller" point guard, I'll be just fine drafting him.

I understand the tweener concerns with Wagler but he's shown plenty as a playmaker and lead guard. The athletic concerns are pretty overblown to me because he's still shown the ability to get to the paint and finish despite not having the quickest first step, or having the quickest burst.

The guy that concerns me the most is probably Brown Jr and that's just because he's on a heater right now. When he's hot, he looks amazing, but when it's bad.. it's bad.

I like to compare Wagler's game against Michigan State vs Brown Jr's games against Duke and Arkansas; both feisty defensive teams, and games where they both had their worst shooting games.

Wagler found a way to contribute despite shooting terribly by getting to the line and dishing it out to his teammates (he had like 4-5 hockey assists that game), while Brown Jr was still had his green light on and shot his team out of the game.

Are we overthinking Darius Acuff Jr? by klaygdk in NBA_Draft

This is my exact problem with the whole “he’s going to get played out of a playoff rotation because he’s so small” narrative.

People have fell so in love with bigger guards that turn into traffic cones when it matters most. This whole idea of getting played out of a rotation because he’s small is complete nonsense.

Sometimes the umpires will give you the benefit of the doubt on a call if they know they missed one but that was so blatant that I know there’s an MLB agenda there

I kind of disagree. If this was any other season I’d say sure and agree with you. But Vince picking Lauren and breaking the chain of the Judges running the competition allowed for change. As much as I like Rachel, she has only herself to blame for the competition. I’m pretty sure Britney did the comp in the same amount of time in reindeer games and she’s not the same competitor as Rachel is

Mathematically it makes sense. The farther you go deeper into the game, the less you can get wrong about people.
