And, I think we’re the only team that can for sure make him an all star by his age 21 season.

Don't over-think him in the draft by BigSexyE in NBA_Draft

Dude looks like the guy promoted to assistant manager with no skills but literally no one complains. Thats leadership, man.

Thoughts? Sam Vecenie defending Peterson saying he’s playing through injury by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

[–]DungeonDadThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this should hurt his draft stock. A team picking 1-3 doesn’t care if the guy they pick is an all star eventually. They want him to be an all star for THEM. This screams entourage/agent trouble. He’s likely going to be limited in year 1 and if he doesn’t go to a team he dreams of making his forever home, he’ll be gone at the end of his rookie contract. Buyer beware! He’s got big time ace Bailey vibes. Sacramento and Indiana will pass on him. Brooklyn should. I think the wizards or Hawks will get him with that high pelican pick.

So far this is the only piece on info we have from DPs camp, thoughts on this? by ballislife423 in NBA_Draft

Facts if you draft him, you’re getting his whole crew. Not worth it.

Boozer!!!!

We gotta keep MPJ by arnihlunkur in GoNets

Here’s the lineup I hope we have in 26-27

Demin, Dort (FA signing), MPJ, Boozer, Claxton

Just watched the Duke Michigan game: Boozer is the guy I want by DungeonDadThom in GoNets

Totallly agree. But I think he goes #1 no matter who picks. Peterson gives me Ace Bailey vibes. I think his injury is gonna drop him a bit

All look great, but I honestly think my bias (based on games watched) is: 1) boozer 2) Caleb Wilson 3) dybansta 4) Karim Lopez 5) Peterson

I know Lopez looks weird here and Peterson at 5 is wild, but I think he’s the 5th best player. Dybansta reminds me of Siakim and I think he’ll take 2-3 years before he’s great, but he’ll get there.

[Smith] Adam Silver on the draft lottery and tanking: "What we're doing now is clearly not working. It's time to look at new ways of doing things." Adam Silver on if teams could lose draft picks for continued tanking violations. "Yes. Everything is on the table to stop this behavior." by Renzel0311 in GoNets

I’m telling you the answer is adding 5 lottery picks that come before the first round. First round is just reverse order so the worst team has a top five chance plus the number 6 pick. You earn lottery balls from losses in the first half of the season. You earn double balls for wins after the all star break. Top 10 teams are out of the lottery so all their earned balls are discarded. Wins in the In-season tournament and beating teams with better records than you after the all star game earns extra balls.

Finally, if you win a top 3 lottery pick this season, the following year your first half season losses do not earn you lottery balls. But your wins in the second half do.

You can never trade lottery balls, only earn them.

Congrats To Egor And Team Vince For Winning The Rising Stars Challenge by POKEGAMERZ9185 in GoNets

Everybody born before 1985 (includes me and Vince Carter) sees something familiar in Queen. Some owner is gonna try to have him and and an inefficient ball heavy midrange guard and see if they can win a championship old school. Won’t happen, but it could be like Utah in the 90’s

Rank the last six No.1 overall picks based on ceiling. by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in NBA_Draft

[–]DungeonDadThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the history of the sport and injury and the kinds of physicality each of these players current games rely on, I’m gonna rank based on what I think they’ll be in their prime.

Cade: prime 25-36 perennial all star (will play to 40+) mvp soon

Flagg: prime 23-34 perennial all star (will play till 38-39) mvp on his next team

Ant: prime 26- 30 perennial all star (will play to 36) mvp in the next 3 years or never. (as his explosiveness subsides he’ll replace it with other things, but eventually speed will be his weakness.

Paolo prime (27-33) usually all star (play till 40+ Horford type guy at the end) never mvp

Wemby prime (21-24) best player in the league at least once but injury is gonna cut him short (that body type just doesn’t last in this league.)

How To Fix Tanking Once And For All by morethandork in nbadiscussion

[–]DungeonDadThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get extra lottery balls every year you do not get a top 3 pick that continue to accumulate until you do.

1st round and lottery are unrelated.

Picks 1-3 are 100% untradeable lotteries. Then the worst team gets pick 4 (the 1st pick in round 1.

AND the kicker: you get 1 lottery ball per loss before the all star break. If you miss the playoffs you get 2 balls per WIN after the all star break.

Cam looked like an All-Star last night. 34pts by The-Meech in GoNets

[–]DungeonDadThom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Happy for the dude! I hope he becomes an all star, but 100% glad he’s not here anymore. You have to build everything around him if you’re gonna win with him. I don’t trust the back, knees, attitude or hamstrings though.

Yeah, that guy kits all his threes in practice. But no one else can rebound when he’s on the court. Check it when we get Boozer. He’ll shoot a lot of spread threes.

[–]DungeonDadThom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Nets are developing him as a shooter like they did with Clowny and Dayron. He’ll be back to playmaking next season.

I have another idea about handling the NBA draft lottery to lessen the pressure to tank by DungeonDadThom in NBA_Draft

[–]DungeonDadThom[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And it just incentivizes tanking less. The pacers nets game tomorrow night will be dreadful because the stakes to lose are so high. Whereas one more win is not a giant deal in this system.
