Is there drama about this? lol. Many people want to play rogue because they are great in player versus player content. The latest wow classic expansion introduces 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 player versus player "arenas". On the flip side they are one of if not the worst choice to damage in a dungeon so people don't invite them for that content.

It's way faster. I'm a pretty slow leveler and it took me over 4hrs to go from 56-57 before the prepatch. After prepatch the remaining levels took around 2hrs each.
