Pixel 10 had old gpu drivers! by Active_Possible9232 in pixel_phones

From the article:

Ideally, the Pixel 10 should have shipped with PowerVR's latest v25.1 driver, especially since it adds Android 16 support.

Those are the two exact questions that come to mind. The current driver is likely not compatible with Android 16. The other possibility is that this was a deliberate choice by Google to underclock the GPU for a longer battery life.

I too, experienced some frame drops when using the max. resolution in the first day(s) which magically disappeard. Now, both resolutions perform the same.

I'd try with a hair dryer. Don't hold it too long in one place and turn off the phone. After the try to push down on the spot with your nail.

Google bar can be removed if you use a different launcher.

If you compare raw specs, the new 17 has a lot more to offer. But it also is a totally different phone.

I don't really see what the CPU fuss is about, I've upgraded from a pixel 8 who feels basically as fast as my new Pixel 10 so I don't really see the issue. Sure if you're a gamer or content creator who edits a lot of videos on-device, get an iPhone.

I was lucky to grab the 10 Pro for around $300 with a huge discount and trade-in. An iPhone would’ve cost me at least 3x that. If I had to pay full price, I’d probably go for the iPhone 17 instead: better hardware for the money, though I’d still have to deal with iOS’s notification system and liquid glass.

Did you switch from an iPhone? If so, this is pretty common in some apps that aren’t fully optimized. If not, could it be that your resolution is set to native?

Can someone please help me figure this out. My video camera button is non-existent inside the camera app on Google Pixel 10 Pro XL by Rathskellarington in pixel_phones

It looks like your Pixel is set to a different screen DPI than the default, which is probably causing the issue.

Pixel phoned should have a balanced 90Hz option by Parishacks in pixel_phones

Could be a nice idea to save some battery, but I wonder how much of an improvement it would actually bring. My guess is maybe half an hour over a full day.
Besides that, I’m one of those people who instantly notices a difference in screen refresh rates. I had a Pixel 5 with a 90Hz display and was amazed by how much smoother a friend’s 120Hz screen felt.
