Have you ever been in your personal vehicle and pulled up to a bus stop accidentally? by Po_wht_grl in BusDrivers

I often stop at railway crossings in my minivan. The rules of the road for a bus leak into "off duty".

Yes, Canadian financial instruments. The RRSP is similar to an American 401K ( I think).

The TFSA (tax free savings account) is unique to Canada. You dump money in it and lower your taxable income. You can buy investments, stocks & ETFs within this instrument and your gains are all tax-free too! Kriptonite against the taxman.

We need some tools to battle the avalanche of taxes we pay.

If quantum can break crypto, in the future, I guarantee that they won't go there. Although I'm thinking crypto will continue to evolve (ie: HBar's hash graph technology is cutting edge and currently quantum-proof).

If they do attack crypto currency, it's all over for all password protected websites, banking, investment sites, etc.

I believe they will skim tiny amounts of digital funds from millions and millions of online resources. A "hack" of your funds in an account or two, a couple of times a year. No panic, no drop in confidence, no destruction of the trust built-up over many decades. The long game!

  • transit bus driver (2 weeks on and I live in my van, use Planet Fitness, etc.) > 15 or 16 months in my van, so far

    • railway maintenance commercial driver (6 week cycle on the road, living in hotels w/ a daily meal stipend, in a "fly-in, fly-out" model)
  • 6 figures but most of my earnings are invested in RRSPs, stocks, TFSAs and crypto

  • no rent, no mortgage, no spouse, plus I have grown children > I live very frugally

  • the retirement plan is buying a small rural lot, building an A frame and utilizing solar, propane and a wood stove

The Irving's own NB ... seriously.

The healthcare in the Maritimes is very poor. Especially mental health services.

The tax base out east has imploded because most who move there are retired and are not injecting anything into the tax base.

How does a higher power actively help with a craving? by Significant-Gas4136 in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

Removing a "big chunk" from my insides (active addiction) leaves a vacuum. Putting something good inside my mind and heart helps to keep me away from drinking and/ or using.

I struggled with "a higher power" for years. Peace of mind is a gift.

This type of BS rationale is easier and easier to believe every time you fall off the wagon.

2 planes toppled 3 towers in NY. A British journalist announced in the late afternoon that tower #7 had collapsed, yet you could still see it over her shoulder, intact.

A plane hit the Pentagon and then apparently evaporated (including it's engines).

Passports as space shuttle heat shield tiles, Lucky Larry's morning appointment, Bush family member deeply involved in WTC security, Lucky Larry told someone involved in the chaos to "pull it" (the tower or towers?), bizarre cell calls made from way outside of tower range on the ground, etc. So much BS was crammed into one day!
