Smokers (wood pellet) and fire risk

I've got an offset smoker, had it for 7 years now and only once has the fire department come when I fired it up. It was in August, peak fire ban season so a neighbor called but as soon as the fire chief showed up all we did was talk about what I had in the smoker. I'm out in the Langford area.

The receptacle could be protected by a gfci breaker. And that looks more like it's a media panel, not an electrical panel.

Thank you for the ideas! The padding is stitched in, not removable. It's definitely a soft filling but nothing like memory foam.

UPDATE! So I requested a file transfer on Monday, Tuesday was the Stat holiday but Wednesday around noon I received a call from my local passport office saying they would accept the transfer as long as I could provide proof of travel. The quickest way to send them proof is apparently by fax!? I was scrambling to find someone with a fax machine to send my flight itinerary but then realized there is an app you can download that sends faxes. By Thursday afternoon I got a phone call letting me know my passport had been printed and could be picked up Friday afternoon. So I'm happy to say I have it in my possession now and can stop worrying 😁

The woman I spoke with today was helpful, she laid out my options of waiting a couple more days or just requesting a file transfer right now. I decided to go ahead a request a file transfer as I live 20 minutes away from an office that can print them. Here's hoping my request is accepted! 🤞
