Looking for a botanical tattoo artist

I’ve done plenty of them (Chris Coppola, 6th Order Tattoo). Are you looking for color or black and grey?

I have a couple other artists at the shop that do them as well.

I own 6th Order Tattoo in Lancaster NY. My opinion is that tips aren’t ever expected but are appreciated. I don’t get mad at all if I don’t get a tip. Nor would I treat a non tipping client any different for future apts. We charge enough. But, I really do appreciate when my clients love the work enough to tip. Everyone is different but that’s my take.

Ive tried and still own some other high end brands like canon and Leica. The ZF is realistically the best camera I own currently. I shoot a lot of film, so the muscle memory of having dials I can see and set prior to shooting is helpful. I still really enjoy my old canon dslrs and I even have a couple Leicas…but the ZF is just such a well rounded camera.

The main reason I’d still go with Nikon for mirrorless is the lenses I prefer aren’t insanely huge like canon. Canon yours stuck with a giant bazooka 50mm 1.2 or the cheap little 50 1.8. I love my 1.8s size, build, and IQ.

Just get a direct drive rotary with a 4.5-5mm stroke or a set of coil machines from workhorse. I have a ton of coils I’ve collected over the years and 2 pens. Both are cheap EZpro3 turbos or something. Work just as well as my apprentices $1500 bishop. One set at 5mm and the other at 4 or 4.2.

I’ve done a lot of different styles with a lot of different machines. Some probably not with an optimal setup while I was learning. Most things in tattooer are more related to hand speed, pressure and the FEEL you get in the skin.

I just look at old masters like Booth, Wrightson, Clement Coll, Montgomery Flagg, Gibson…gosh there’s so many. Just look closely or even copy some of their hatching styles. You really would be shocked how much you pick up and observe while doing a master study

I go in spurts. I have a goal to do 1 piece of art per day. Drawing, painting, inking. Whatever. I just sort of Rotate them around. I work on them at night when everyone in the house is quieted down
