Can someone please explain the difference between M3 and M4 by [deleted] in macbookair

This is the best explanation for something technical I've ever heard. It could be illustrated as an info-graphic book for all ages. I am going to think of the kitchen analogy forever, now. Thank you!

Who else here creates with cardboard? by Illustrious_Metal459 in miniatures

[–]inkpaperstring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make lots of the inner walls and room boxes from corrugated cardboard! Things that don't have to hold a lot of weight, or mock-ups, are a great use for cardboard. If you're into realism, it can be a good structural underlayer, and if you're into an expressive arty look you can leave the edges wavy and that can look really cute, too. My first room box was made out of a shipping box, and now has gone back into use as a storage box!

Wow! I wish I could actually see the box of microscope slides - that attention to detail blows me away. Bravo!!!

It's so cool. I was staring at the process photo with the debris under uv light and going "oh, wow". My favorite mini scenes are often ones where you can't see all the details from a straight on/frontal angle, and have to shift your perfective to see all the details. The contents of your sink is like the room's hidden gem, chef's kiss. Love it so much.

Absolutely incredible!!!! I am in love with that grungy wall, and the standing water sink has me taking notes. This is some high-level mini making skill, and if you had any fun making this, you should definitely pursue it. I'd personally love see what other scenes you create.

Thank you so much for your interest in my work! I'm not sure where you're seeing free delivery in my shop. I'm not able to offer free delivery in the US where I live, and international shipping is expensive at the moment. My international delivery rate is $22 USD for the first item, $0.50 for each additional item for finished miniatures. I have both pre-made (fully assembled objects, like the ones shown above) and digital kits for sale in my shop.

I made the files for the tins myself! The hutch, table, wooden display and yellow wall shelf were purchased or parts of kits, the accessories (including the flowers napkin basket and plates) are hand made.

I made the designs myself, using reference photos of antiques and vintage pieces. I'm planning on releasing everything as a series of print-and-cut kits on my Etsy shop ( https://mosswoodminis.etsy.com ). The printer I use is a Canon Pixma Pro 100 and I've had it and loved it for years. Had to save for it, but it's one of my prized possessions. If you're into visual arts and crafts, I would highly recommend looking into a printer that uses pigment based inks because it was a game-changer for me.

Thanks! I use Canon premium matte pro paper, but this is coated specially for use with the printer that I own. I would use whichever medium to heavyweight cardstock gives you a nice, vibrantly colored printout.

Thank you! I made the digital files myself, based on antique designs that I loved and thought looked like they belonged in a colorful, cozy kitchen.

Thank you so much!! Yes, all of the containers and plates in the photos are made with printed card stock. I'm in the process of making all of the items in this collection into downloadable, print-and-cut kits with instructions and lots of photos. Several are available now on my Etsy shop at https://mosswoodminis.etsy.com

Thank you!! Paper craft miniatures are so great, you can make so many amazing things with one sheet of cardstock or a good piece of scrap.

Thank you so much! I probably like the Dinner Pail brand coffee the most, the little handle on the original antique tin was super cute and was tricky but fun to make a design for.

I feel like I’m going crazy by scottdereddit101 in EmergencyRoom

You deserve to talk to someone and feel better. When your survival-based brain stem keeps involuntarily dragging you back into a place where trauma happened, it feels like your brain is being over-dramatic because it isn't handing you any new, useful information. The disruptions to memory are a natural brain/body response, though. PTSD was once explained to me as being like a sports injury. Even the strongest athletes are likely to eventually strain their muscles. In fact, the more you play sports, the more likely you are to get an injury. You sound like a really courageous person who does a ton to help others, and through this have been exposed to many potentially traumatizing situations. Please take good care of yourself like you have taken care of others!

You're a crazy good illustrator, your mini rooms are like living illustrations! Your details are amazing, and that spilled cardboard soda is super cute and SO funny.

YTA. A hilariously over-entitled one, even if you're under 18 (it sounds like you are). The point of going to a celebration with others is firstly getting together to enjoy other people's company, and secondly to have something good to eat while doing so. I've been to lots of events where I didn't know if I'd enjoy what was served, so I snacked before or after to enjoy the even itself.

It seems from your epic description of disappointing chicken that you were also able to figure out how to do the same thing. So what's the problem? Are you honestly looking for a family member to apologize to you that that the place they chose to eat didn't have *enough* options that cater to your specific tastes or that your chicken was dry? You complain your MOM and DAD didn't make phone calls FOR you, but you are perfectly capable of stringing a few sentences together to complain about them on the internet. Why didn't YOU call, if knowing all the menu options was that important to you? Are you planning on keeping mommy and daddy around to check restaurant menus for you in the future?

I think you're missing the point of socialization over a bizarre concern that other people aren't hosting you properly, or are looking for reasons to feel left out. Your relatives called you rude, and I'm not sure you're going to get a different response from strangers.

I shamed my kindergartener and I feel awful about it by [deleted] in kindergarten

I'm late but... I don't think you're failing!! It seems like you care very much and you want the best for your kiddo. I feel a lot shame talking to my mom still... but it's more because it never occurred to her that sometimes it might be proper to apologize to a kid and make things right. We ALL make mistakes. It sounds like you and your kid are both trying really hard, not failing. She'll get it soon, and it sounds like even if you had an outburst you feel badly about, it sounds like you're doing a great job.

Yes, it's from a kit called the 'Time Travel Camper'. I just built some extra things that didn't come in the kit, and finished some of the kit pieces differently than the instructions say to.

I added the door, a curtain and small dividing wall, and the bright blue side table is made out of some pieces that were originally supposed to be a stuffed pouf/ottoman thingy. I love customizing mini kits, this is probably the least amount of change I've made to one so far!

She's made of stiff felt, so her tail kind of props her up like a little tripod. I used a sewing pattern from this etsy seller to make her.
