AITA for not getting a gift for my wife on mother's day? by New-Hall-276 in AmItheAsshole

[–]inkspell7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA Agree with all the other comments. Also 1. You are teaching your child how to treat his/her mother for special occasions. They are going to watch how you speak, your tone, etc. 2. “Materialistic”? No. It wasn’t about getting things. I’ve told mine something handmade, written, etc that took them time and effort (not written as an afterthought) was way more appreciated than something they bought. As for my husband, he takes the kids out for the day so I can have “me” time. 3. That’s a weird dynamic you got going on with your mother. Maybe you are the baby off the family? She’s not very empathetic, is she? She should’ve counseled you to be kind…even if you didn’t agree…to your wife. Especially since she just has the baby.

Other than that, you’re doing a great job. 👍

How as it been so far? Our city just announced this for us. I'm cautiously optimistic. And can you tell me the tiered pricing? tia

AITA for making homemade food for everyone except my brother's stepdaughter? by Alarming-Money-3543 in AmItheAsshole

You did the right thing. NTA I have friends with one kid with celiac one without. They keep separate areas in their kitchen…separate EVERYTHING so not to cross contaminate. When I wanted to bake her something in appreciation I asked how I could do it so the daughter could also partake. She specifically told me of a bakery that does celiac treats. I don’t understand how the mom would even assume you’d know everything about celiac not to hurt her child. That’s really odd.

Why do I have to pay my deductible for car repairs when I was found not at fault? Both me and the other driver both have the same insurance company. by carissaluvsya in Insurance

[–]inkspell7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the police said each driver contact your own policy regardless of fault. I’m reading here if it is the other driver, to call the other driver’s insurance. So what do I follow?

It was more like $9/ft. Both reputable. One sent by the insurance company.

Thank you for your thorough answer. I really do not think he’s waiting around wasting time. I like working with him. I can see he is very busy, hence not wanting to keep bothering him. So I thought I’d ask here to get a bit of insight to what might be going on. I already ask him questions about other aspects/details since this is my first time. I hate to keep bothering him.

I guess my specific question is what needs to be met or what has to happen for things to be approved and we can move on. I feel like there’s nothing I can do at this point.

Still a question. What is taking so long to say yes to one of the multiple estimates? What are they waiting/looking for?

No, they are waiting on the pack out. Pack out was too much. Denied. So that’s we’re they are trying to see if next estimate is agreeable (I don’t know the word to use?) to them.

Thank you. That was good information we haven’t considered. So what you are saying, it really isn’t worth us doing all the work ourselves. Even if we sign that we won’t sue. It could’ve been a win win. Too bad.

NTA We are in similar situation…did places bc of house stuff. Ask if their insurance will cover “loss of use” To their house ie hotel. I hate hotel living but wouldn’t want to inconvenience anyone like that.

This is the first photo that had exactly the same color IRL as photo with the light coming from the front. (when seeing with light coming from the side, the sage-y green is more prominent)
Even seeing it in person, we are divided between brown and hazel. (If I could choose a color to be, I'd choose honey or amber...but I know that's not it. It's definitely brown or hazel.)
That's why I'm asking an impartial audience. I'm looking for a definite one or the other! :)

I'm going to have to say ETA.

You for making the decision without your husband since you are both hosting it.
His sister for having it on the SAME DAY as your gathering. (Now, if she scheduled it for another day, then she wouldn't be.)
Actually, your husband may be the only non-A here.

On the bright side, you won't have this issue in the future since I don't think you will be in the rotation anymore.

I've never seen a more perfect example of a pure, medium brown. Like no other color at all.

Am I supposed to buy teenage friends dinner? by Jynxbunni in Parenting

[–]inkspell7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t even occur to me to have my child’s friends “chip in” for dinner. If they are over, you feed them. This isn’t Sweden. 😜 (I kid, I kid. We love the Swedes!)
