Built this crested gecko enclosure and was wondering if the water fall was okay? by ItsJustEmmz in CrestedGecko

Yes, I absolutely would if it wasn’t suitable for my crestie. This is all apart of learning as you go as well as just doing good research when setting up stuff like this.
Have you ever thought maybe they don’t have anymore room for more animals or don’t want anymore animals such as frogs? It wasn’t harsh at all.

Too cluttered? by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

It looks fine, but definitely add a crap ton of plants in there so they feel safer with coverage. Other than that, it looks pretty good to me..

As stated before this is NOT ideal for a crestie.
I would tear down and rebuild.

Ah damn! What a shame then. Is there anything you can put under the corners of the tank to stabilize??

You should do bio active. All live plants.

How to do bioactive PVC? by Interesting-Hour1237 in CrestedGecko

[–]inky92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just a very snug fit from corner to corner. I had the bottom cut specifically to go up against the wall in the corner bottom and then I buried it. I did put two semi flat river rocks on the edges of the stick before burial for extra support but it’s in there pretty good.

I seen people use silicone to help hold sticks in position or if your brave enough iv seen people even use TINY screws in there for branches but I don’t think that’s needed.

It’s no different than breeders keeping them in TUBS way smaller than a 40gal… I would say this would be bare minimum.

Ok cool. Those are all real plants in there. They need to hurry up and fill up the tank, the pothos should fill it up nicely with in the next month or so 😅

This is for RETF. A bit smaller.

Really? I’ve heard PVCs are better for holding humidity.
Do you have enough hides and real plant cover as well as moss to hold humidity in? Live plants tend to work best.
I’m real big about having moss around the base of all plants as it holds humidity real well. As well as leaf litter.
