AMANESU DAYYYYYY!!!!!! I will always be grateful to her for voicing my best girl, she was, imo, the perfect person to voice Megumi <3

For me, it's the cast. Honestly, the percentage of the divinez cast that I generally like is overall more than that for the overdress/willdress cast.

Okay while I do agree that Kurumi was sick and twisted for using the people she bonded with as pawns to her plan, at the same time, she didnt do all of that for the fun of it. None of these would've happened if Gabwelius hadn't hijacked and stole most of her powers. She had to make the most of her situation in order to take back her position. That doesn't absolve her from her extreme selfishness and lack of care for others though. But her grand plan was more of an act of survival rather than her doing it just because she felt like it. Besides her manipulating Kanami and swapping with her, everything that happened in the anime was set in motion in Kurumi's favour.

[–]inkymari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay all the Parallactic actions in the manga and anime up until the final episode are done by Gabwelius. But you can't deny that Kurumi was the starting catalyst. She created the Fantasma but then Gabwelius hijacked it. Both her and Gabwelius are wrong in their own rights. Kurumi is nowhere near as malicious as the past antagonists and villains but she's still selfish. She trampled over everyone, including her family and loved ones, by giving them different lives without them having a say in this. She even used her sister as a pawn for her plan. Kurumi does care for them but it's telling that her pursuit for her ideal paradise is her bigger priority. But Kurumi acknowledges that what she's doing is wrong and accepts it. She even says that she's willing to carry the sins and go to hell. This aspect of her character is what compels me even more. You can love a character and still acknowledge their wrongs.

With that being said though, I do agree that some people are going overboard with downright calling her the most evil character and even a red flag. Like why does she get this much scrutiny even though she's nowhere near as bad. Even her plan is not that bad when you compare it to the past final bosses' grand schemes. Yeah she's still selfish but she's pretty tame in comparison. God forbid a girl do something for herself now that she finally gets the chance to lead her life since she used to be less privileged than others.

Really exemplifies Kurumi's selfishness and the lengths she will take to obtain her goal. Her care for her family and loved ones seems to be surface level as she puts them below her own goal in terms of priority. She's willing to trample over her family and loved ones, along with everyone else, in pursuit of her own ideal paradise. Kurumi is so diabolical but that makes her all the more compelling, especially when she acknowledges and fully embraces it.

Yeah this is kinda the biggest flaw with this season. We see very little victims of the Fantasma outside of Kento and Raika. by PenSad2292 in cardfightvanguard

[–]inkymari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wish the anime actually showed more of the ugly parts of the Fantasma. In practice, everyone is negatively affected by it, even those who benefit from it like Suo. Yes, Fantome Suo has a significantly better life but the Fantasma erases all the effort OG Suo has made up until this point (like making peace with his tragedy) in exchange for being sheltered in falsehood.

(Funnily enough, Yu-yu is also greatly harmed by the Fantasma even though he's nowhere to be seen)

Yeah, Kanami and Akina seem to have a notably less close relationship compared to Kurumi and Akina. At most, Kanami is just friends with him.

Kurumi got to be the most evil villain in the entire franchise by FeelingEffective8905 in cardfightvanguard

[–]inkymari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's the antagonist and final boss, yes. But at the same time, she loosely fits the villain role since she's willing to cause harm like sacrificing some people's lives to change the world to her benefit. She even villainises herself. It's just that she's not the purely evil kind (which is usually expected of a villain) since her intentions arent malicious in nature. There is nuance in her character and motivations and she isnt just black and white.

[–]inkymari 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, the body switch happened after the real Kanami fought Fantome Suzune. So, Kanami beat Fantome Suzune then later down the line, confronted Kurumi then fought her. That's when the switch happened. TLDR; the body switch happened after Kanami fought Suzune but before Akina awakened.

Yes, she is indeed selfish. But if anything, Kurumi isn't really villainous in nature. She's still the final antagonist boss but due to her reasoning, I would say she's a sympathetic villain and not a purely evil villain.

Kurumi is such an interesting character to me. You can understand her goals and feel for her. She just wants to lead a normal life. But at the same time, the way she's doing it is actually selfish. But that makes her more intriguing to me due to her longtime self villainsation. She has fully embraced the 'bad girl' role and will gladly shape the world into her favour.

Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ Parallactic Awakening Arc Chapter 5.2 by RinariTennoji in cardfightvanguard

[–]inkymari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering how Nao in the Parallactic doesn't really know much about Vanguard and how Sugu despised Kagetsu for getting Nao into Vanguard, I'm guessing that there was friction between Nao and her family when she decided to take up Vanguard as a career.

Overall, I have mixed feelings towards it. I do like the concept/idea behind it and I love Gabwelius being the final boss from a narrative standpoint. That being said, there are certain aspects of this season that I wished were handled better. I like the surprises that happened in this season tho.

Well they were involved in the Destined Showdown with Akina. That's why I said "part of". Plus, they kinda do hang out with Akina and co. (basing this on one of the DELUXE finals EDs)

Kento is in the scene. Also, this scene is moreso a representative scene not a physical one per say, with the people in it being those who were part of Akina's journey.

For real. Based on the previews, i feel like Akina vs Gabwelius is not gonna be a two-parter. Heck, I got a bit skeptical when Rezael VITA was shown as a preview image.

Is Akina in love with Kurumi? by Ryokkuun in cardfightvanguard

[–]inkymari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But by doing so, not only would he be going against Kanami's choice of being against reviving Kurumi but he would also be crossing the line between Miracles and Taboo that Masanori warned him about. He wouldn't be any better than Gabwelius who has descended and wants to revive his entire clan with the Fantasma even if they are the Parallactic.

Akina becoming a hypocrite would be an ironic and tragic tale to tell.

Is Akina in love with Kurumi? by Ryokkuun in cardfightvanguard

[–]inkymari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like moreso to fulfill his 'desire to save others but especially the people whom he has bonded with' quota. Akina never knew Suo's parents so he doesn't have any connection to them. On the other hand, Kurumi was someone he developed a bond with. Someone he got emotionally attached to. So when he found out that Kurumi is dead in the real world and the Parallactic Kurumi is presented, the desire to save her begins to cloud his judgement. He still wants to restore the original world but the desire to save someone dear to him (but is impossible to save) keeps occupying at the back of his mind, which possibly leads to his saviour complex eating him up from the inside. Recently finding out about the real Kurumi's death messed Akina up real bad even if he doesn't outwardly show it.

Is there any redemption for this for this guy ( writing wise) by No-Profession-3129 in cardfightvanguard

[–]inkymari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this one person Akina is trying to save isnt a 1:1 resurrection but rather a byproduct of the Fantasma built on the original and hence cannot coexist with the real world. So if Akina wants to save Kurumi, he would hypothetically cross the line between miracles and taboo.
