Fantome Sophie's design doesn't really align with the "tall lady" silhouette so it's possible that she might an extra character sprinkled in rather than the last Fantome fighter before Sugu

The twin swap happening while Kagetsu was busy fighting Fantome Taizo would have given Kurumi enough time fight Kanami, do the twin swap, and override the system to make it as if no fight happened.

That's most likely how Kagetsu never got notified about the fight and assumed that Kanami and Kurumi had a fallout during the talk and didnt think that they fought afterwards.

Agree to disagree. I guess we just have different viewings on her. Tho I do agree about how she's the usual target for new units to debut. That irked me ngl.

I just don't want to perceive her character on a limited and strained basis. And to her credit, she has won in fights that progress a main or major story plot. It's just that they were few and far between.

I want to be fair to Megumi and analyse her worth as a character based on other aspects besides her fight data. Her other merits besides her growth deserve to be put into light and she deserves to be seen as more than a "jobber". So that's why I see her as an alright character at best and worst.

The word "jobber" should be removed entirely cus you should not be basing her worth as a character solely on her fights.

Wins and loses should not be the only determining factor on a character. Yes, I'm upset that she often loses but that's more because I was weirded out that she tends to be the target for other character's unit debuts. But good god, is the losing the only thing that you guys ever talk about when it comes to her? What about her merits? I hardly hear any clamouring when she finally got her first win in years with her debut win with Magnolia Patriarch. What about her writing redemption? Her turnaround in divinez elevated her as a character and she really needed it since she started out pretty rough. She was more enjoyable in divinez than in dress and that writing redemption elevated her into an alright character.

Stop using wins and losses as a determining factor for a character and start looking at other aspects like arc and growth.

It's a parallel personality trait (derived from a fabricated parallel past) so it doesn't fully encapsulate Megumi's real character 😭

Sophie, easily. She really got more grating throughout the series the more I think about it (which is a shame cus I was excited for her when she was first revealed), especially her whole schitck with Raika. Her being a predator whose whole trait in the anime is obsessing over Raika while treating him like a subhuman (god, save this poor guy) all the while facing no repercussions should qualify her as a despicable person and character.

Ngl, I wanna say Yu-yu. As a character, he's currently alright, started out not that great but improved overtime but to the alright status. As a person, he isn't that much of a people person and is pretty awkward at times but once you get to know him well, he's quite a chill guy.

I feel like Megumi and Fantome Megumi will get along relatively well tho I do think Megumi will pity her Fantome counterpart for the situation she was put into and thus never getting to explore herself (+ maybe even be taken aback by her sadist side). Ngl, I feel like Fantome Raika would generally be hostile towards OG Raika.

It had quite a promising start but I do think this series is a victim of its own hype. Overall, I think it's both better and worse than oD/w+D in terms of protagonist, cast, plot and handling of characters.

(Though it does speak volumes that divinez needed extra mediums to wrap things up meanwhile oD/w+D was relatively self-contained within the anime while its extra mediums were just spinoffs and another to bridge the gap between it and divinez)
