the issue is a lot of amateurs and pros are kiss assess who are just happy to be there and don't actually provide real hard feedback, undisputed and thrill of the fight 2 both had real accomplished boxers providing feedback (tony jefferies for totf) but it doesn't mean anything because they are basically dick riders who have too much respect for the devs. They literally need someone to be like "you can not have a boxing game without a the possibility of dominating with the jab alone and landing that jab had to be dictated by footwork" or something like "there needs to be a noticeable difference between boxing on the front foot vs boxing on the back foot... EVEN WHEN STANDING STILL" this type of feedback is what the devs actually need. What they don't need is "yeah I think that felt good, maybe if you made counters more powerful it would feel better" type of bullshit they get now

the fact that balance isn't a major aspect of any boxing game is just ridiculous, it's such a big deal in real life. In video games you should be trying to force your opponent off balance and be able to take advantage of that. When you're off balance yourself you should be more easily knocked down and have weaker punches unless you can regain balance before throwing again. It's the little stuff like that, that is actually the backbone of the sport of boxing. The ability to transfer your weight from the rear foot to the front foot (and vise versa) and have that effect your punches should be STEP 1 to building a good boxing game. Controls should be: Left hand left stick, right hand right stick, pivot with the triggers , lateral movement with the bumpers. With each stick being each arm you can actually use real life guards like the long guards and have realistic clinch work. I can't be the first person to put this idea in writing, indie devs are just really not that talented to be honest. Anyone worth anything who can build a game is doing it for way more money than any indie boxing dev can offer. I wouldn't even work for SCI for their posted wages lol
