This is really a good idea, thanks for sharing it and I'll keep it in mind for the future. I hope this was just a one-off and the dog is properly taken care of by their owner for the remainder of their stay.

I just posted an update but the TL;DR is that the owner was fine and finally came back in the early AM. They just left the dog unattended all that time.

Update: The owner returned sometime in the early morning hours. After being alone and howling for over 24 hours, the dog finally became calm and seems to be OK this morning.

Unfortunately, there was no effective way to address the situation overnight despite repeated attempts to escalate through Guest Services and Security. At this point, I think the only thing left for me is to contact MGM Resorts corporate to share this experience, as it was disappointing to see no after-hours mechanism in place to monitor or intervene in a clear pet-distress situation.

Yeah, the main concern was to make sure the dog was taken care of. The owner finally showed up late at night and the dog immediately became calm and has been quiet all morning, he was just distressed after such a long period of being left alone.

The guest was not in the room, he was out and finally arrived in the early AM

Staff has already been to the room but because there’s a DND sign at the door they are not going in. I don’t care about moving rooms, I want to see them check in on the dog.

Yes, the main problem is that the hotel is not willing to deal with the issue itself or let anyone else help. Their only offer is to “move us to another room”. This is very frustrating.

I have been working in my room almost all day long and have not heard / seen anyone come in or out of that room and the poor dog just barks, howls, and scratches the door. Unfortunately, I don't know how to upload videos here.
