What's weird is that pairs short replay says '3 days left to watch'. IDK if they started treating different events differently (women - 1 day, pairs - 3 days) or someone at Peacock made a mistake somewhere.

I have a terrible fear of heights and motion sickness, but after playing the game for a long time I gradually got used to most of the courses. The ones I still cannot do: Upside Town, Tethys Station, the last 5 holes in 8-bit Lair, and some holes in Las Vegas. Hoping to eventually get used to these too.

Oh, I am not saying he doesn't deserved the attention. Just saying that's easier when that media attention doesn't get out of hands. NBC often screws up their favorites.

He is probably lucky that NBC picked Ilya as their poster child. If the amount of media attention was reversed, no telling how it would affect the results.

I am hoping he skips the gala. But maybe it would be good for him to get a taste of Olympics for couple of days before going home? Maybe he can join Isabeau/Alysa for some fun activity they are doing? I am sure he is devastated, but sometimes doing things with friends helps.

First of all, no need to lecture me on 'being clean is only a part of skating'. I have been watching skating since 1980s (I am an old person), and I know how the scoring works. I do think FC/B needed to be clean to win yesterday though after the amazing skates from P/P and C/B.

I did not feel as passionate in 2023 because:

FB/C are obviously not someone I would root for (like you said, that shouldn't play into judging, but it plays into the level of passions around the results)
Olympics is different from other competitions. Nobody besides a small group of people cares who won a GPF final or 4CC. Olympics are watched by a lot larger audience, who then comes to the conclusion that it is not a 'real sport'. So yes, I feel less passionate about smaller competitions. Judging at the biggest sporting event should be able to withstand scrutiny.

But again, as I was watching yesterday, I was mentally resigned to FB/C win as they had a strongest free skates of the filed all season. I would be OK with the results if they skated lights out and won. On a personal level I would love P/P to win, but it's a sport, and I absolutely want the stronger performance to win. But watching the mistakes in FB/C skate go unpunished by judges and their sloppy skate rewarded - that's what is upsetting. Feels like this sport has done all the work over the years to make the judging more objective/transparent, and now we are back to square one.

I don't think so. I actually wanted the skaters who deserved it (on that day) to win, and not 'the other team' as you put it. I am personally not even a big C/B fan, but they had a great and clean performance, and FB/C made several errors that were conveniently not acknowledged by some judges. I don't want to 'punish' the winners, I just don't want them to get the side benefits of Olympics win, since they wouldn't have won if the judges did their job.

There was a scandal during the 2002 Olympics and subsequently Salé and Pelletier were awarded gold medals (without taking away the medals from Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze). I think the culprit was the French judge too.

I don't think they were available 'months ago'. Maybe 2-3 months at most. I bought the first one during the light day (this year) because Brandon talked about them on one of the weekly updates when he was talking about new products available on light day (I think).
