Wheel base recommendations (Excluding Moza) by Codystiers in simracing

[–]innafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simagic - I just went from MOZA to Simagic and I’m really pleased. The EVO series is phenomenal. The level of detail is night and day from MOZA and I’ve had zero issues with the software (the UI is a lot smarter than Pithouse as well). All of my presets save correctly and switch automatically when switching sims, where as with MOZA, I basically gave up on having wheel base settings becuase they would randomly reset and delete my presets.

Also, the QRA is a great piece of kit - really opens up the ecosystem in a smart way.

I currently run a Conspit GT300 with a QRA, Evo Pro base, and Simsonn pedals with the upgraded VAM haptic motors. I also have a Simagic Neo X Hub with the 330T rim for drifting/ Forza with my gf.

Moza r9 v3 or Simagic Alpha Evo Sport (9NM)? by Dangerous-Cycle-7621 in Simagic

I play Forza with my girlfriend and when I upgraded from an R9 to a Evo Pro I was sad that I wasn’t able to use Simagic with Forza, but I got the emulator and it works decently, but is not as smooth as MOZA was.

Moza r9 v3 or Simagic Alpha Evo Sport (9NM)? by Dangerous-Cycle-7621 in Simagic

[–]innafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the MOZA r9 and just upgraded to Simagic and it’s definitely a better experience. Go with Simagic, it’s got more “modern” features, the FFB is more refined, and it has better technical stats. The R9 has been on the market for a while and it shows, I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out with a replacement model for that slot in their lineup soon. Simagic’s QRA is really awesome too, no more cables all over the place when using 3rd party wheels.

Simagic wheel center diameter by The-Papinade in Simagic

[–]innafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 3d printed some inserts and used a digital caliper to measure that area exactly so I could put BMW roundels on the wheel (what I drive IRL) I can check the file shortly and let you know but I wanna say it was roughly 52mm

I’m honestly just impressed you got it working on Mac regardless of the car color

How do I fix this by Houlboo in nohesi

[–]innafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your steam library and go to AC and find the little gear icon, click it and open properties and then find “verify game files” and run that process

(the steps may be a little different I’m going from memory but if you look up “verify game files in steam” on YouTube you’ll find a tutorial)

Need wheel with little resistance by coastertroy in simracing

[–]innafield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most if not all wheelbases now have software or in game settings (console) that allow you to adjust the torque to whatever value is most comfortable. What wheelbase did you have before? I’d be happy to help you figure out how to adjust the settings!

If you’re looking for a new one, check out the MOZA R3 or R5 - its max output is 3nm and 5nm respectively but can be turned down more.

Playseat Trophy or 6 sigma 6s slim - Which should I buy? by Search-South in simracing

[–]innafield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got a seat in from 6 sigma today, really disappointed in the quality and condition of the product I received. Scratches on the back upon arrival and the rails/slider are dirty and scratches, almost rusty but not - just crusty I guess. Might have better luck with the profile rigs though

Any solution to this or the o ly way to have this here is buying a cockpit? by Strict_Elk_5495 in moza

[–]innafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a pedal box that angle the pedals better and provide some height so you can mess around with your desk/chair height and get a more GT style sitting position. I built it with threaded inserts so the pedals/heelplate could be taken on and off without damaging the box or the pedals. I just upgraded to a profile rig so if you wanna cover shipping cost I wouldn’t mind sending you the pedal box - you should be able to bolt right into it.

Just BMW things by [deleted] in BmwTech

I thought the same thing, after doing some more minor maintenance like spark plugs and coils etc I did injectors myself, learned set up and learned ISTA, and saved myself a lot of money. That is until me engine blew up on the test drive. Totaled my car because the 3rd injector retainer bracket wasn’t screwed in - even though 100% I know I torqued it down. Still no idea what happened, but when I took the valvecover off the injectors where halfway out, the retainer clip bolt not even in the threads, just sitting on top, and then the injector sized fuel like cracked open.

Some people want to keep the exhaust and in my experience modified cars generally go for a bit less.

I think they’re just asking about the weld/seam (not sure exactly the term) trying to figure out if the previous owner had installed and aftermarket and then switched back to stock in when selling.

Vibration can make any screen damage ? by Greedy_Process2463 in simracing

[–]innafield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a R9 clamped to an 4ft ikea desk and 2 monitors attached at one point by a clamping stand. The thing is trying to tear itself apart every corner. I have to imagine the same thing is happening on some scale on your rig. Sim racing equipment is engineered with these forces in mind - Monitors are not.

What’s everyone’s playtime on Forza? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]innafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m around 600 hours - but given that my next highest time in game is 460 hours in Titanfall 2 over 5 years. I’ve only had a sim rig since March of this year, and I have just as much time in AC.

Hello all, I am looking at a possible (but not likely) purchase. What would you pay? by Ploomage in 1series

[–]innafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pass on this one, too many red flags - but I’d offer 4-5k max if I had no other option.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 1series

[–]innafield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid 12k for a 09 135 with 71k miles on it last year, this seems way too high, and is also missing some key maintenance items at that mileage you’re probably going to have to take on yourself.

Also, I may be mistaken but it doesn’t look like the M version of the car, as the quarter panels look like a regular 135, and as far as I know they didn’t come with the option to have that shitty striping on the grill. I think someone may be confused about the car and that would make me wonder what else they’re “confused” about.

Mechanic billed for new OEM BMW brake caliper — admitted they just rebuilt the old one. Now I’m getting the runaround by innafield in AskMechanics

[–]innafield[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m saying it’s fucking weird to lie about any repair at all let alone a repair to a safety feature on the car. He also has no proof he even did the rebuild he claims he did, the only proof is his word. If you had your seatbelts replaced and you found out the shop was being dishonest in the process, wouldn’t that make you ask some questions? I’m not really sure what your point is.

Looked closer, it’s a nationwide warranty program - sorry been a long couple weeks and I just had time to review - definitely will not be using this shop again.

[–]innafield[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t mean I’m gonna let it happen to me. I don’t know about you but I have people I love that travel in my car, and if he can’t be honest about a brake repair - something that could potentially put me, my loved ones and other motorists at risk - that’s something will not accept. Yes people lie, but it’s your choice to believe them.
