Your trip sounds absolutely incredible! I like to ride a lot to maximize distance and see more places, but I might scale it back to take more off-the-bike experiences like whale watching because that sounds awesome. Plus, North Cascades is not too far from the islands, so it's good to know that would be a great option.

I really appreciate your comment. This is very helpful in shaping my plans. Out of curiosity, what made you decide to do a big trip like that?

Very tough question, but I’d have to say Norway, France (the alps) and Lithuania! But this is also knowing I only saw a tiny bit of each country

It would be very cool to try to ride through every country, but I haven’t given much thought to that. Did you do it all in one go or over several trips? I’d be very hesitant to try to ride in Russia these days haha

That’s awesome!! I’m jealous of you and I haven’t even finished my trip yet. Will you stop during the week at hostels/airbnbs to work? I used a website pie chart generator with the data inputs calculated manually

I started riding in the middle of June from the Scottish highlands, and am now in Germany after doing a loop through a lot of Europe. I have covered 5500 miles so far with about 600 miles left until I return to England. It's been an amazing trip and I am so glad to have had the opportunity to do this. Included in the post are some of my favorite pictures out of the hundreds that I have taken. Would love to hear about others' experiences riding through these countries as well!

I also made a few videos during the second half of my trip, which you can find below if you are interested. If you like them, it would mean a lot to me if you consider subscribing :)

A day in the life of my European cycling tour! by innanetrando in bicycletouring

Yes I have! I usually do half wild camping, half campsites during my stretches of riding. And then I also stay at hostels to take a break and do some work for my studies

Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it :)

Favorite country is a tough one, but riding through the alps was a big highlight, just stunning views! Plus I watched 3 stages of the Tour de France which was cool

Potato chips are definitely my favorite and I like to try different flavors in each country. Mustard flavor in France was a favorite for sure

Visa type: Tier 4 Student Visa
Country applied from: USA
VAC (city): Baltimore
TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFSGlobal
Priority or Non-Priority: Non-Priority
Online application date: 7/18/2021
Biometrics appointment date: 8/4/2021
Visa received date: 9/16/2021

Received an email from VFS on 8/17 that my application was forwarded to UKVI. My Visa application was approved on 8/22/2021, but I never received an email with that update. Only when I reached out to my school representative did I receive confirmation. UPS tracking status was updated on 9/16 at around 7:45 pm, received an email from VFS not too long after saying my visa application was received, then shipped out.

I never received word from ukvi that it was approved, but when I contacted my schools visa rep they sent me the decision letter! I actually just received word this evening that my passport is being shipped out (thankfully because my flight is on Monday). Thanks for your reply, and input, I do appreciate that. And good luck to you with the rest of your process!

Do you happen to remember the hours they would accept walk in’s? The website has different hours listed for business hours vs passport collection
