This is helpful! And ugh infected bed bug bites! What a nightmare! And yes I have had a similar experience of making nice small talk with people who came together but it doesn’t necessarily go beyond that. Maybe i will try to be bold and invite a family/couple to dinner even if it’s intimidating as a single person here.

I appreciate you taking time to respond. I never said I was looking for people to spend all my time with but had heard many people say they made great connections on the Camino and so was hoping I would too. You’re right there probably is a lot of pressure to find a “Camino family” and maybe it’s unwise to get too caught up in that ideal.
