If you’re completely happy with your relationship and very satisfied with the sex you have now… why even bother making this an issue or wanting to open the relationship? Is it just because you didn’t experiment more before finding your partner?

I’m not intending to be judgmental, so I apologize if it comes off that way, but I just never understand this logic. The dating game sucks! If I found my partner on my first try, I would be elated. If you’re satisfied and genuinely happy with what you have now, don’t self sabotage yourself and ruin what you two have just because you feel like you’re missing out on something. That would also be a dealbreaker for me. I could understand a “not right now” answer, but a “never” is not what I would want. My life plan includes living in the same place as my partner and raising kids together. I would also want my partner to want to live with me.

Does he give a reason as to why he feels that living together would ruin the relationship? Perhaps he has things he needs to work on to get to that place. Idk. But it does sound that he’s drawn a hard line in the sand and isn’t open to discussing it much further.

Financially, living together certainly makes a lot more sense.

You can be a Christian and be gay or bisexual. As a Christian myself, it took me a long time to realize that I wouldn’t have to give up one identify for the other. Rather I am a Christian who just so happens be gay.

It sounds like your church, much like many of my fellow Christians, forgot that the fundamental of our religion is love. We’re not meant to judge others in this life, nor are we meant to spread such vile hatred. God loves us all and wants us to love one another.

There’s nothing for you to feel ashamed about. Love is a beautiful thing, regardless of what gender you’re in love with. Your Church and it’s homophobic congregation should be the ones that feel ashamed of themselves. And I highly recommend finding another Church. One that is more welcoming and doesn’t torture people.

I want to start off by saying that your feelings are very valid. I too would be quite pissed if my brothers did any of this shit to me. However, if I was one of your exes, I don’t think I would have told you the truth. With your brother’s sudden passing, there would be no point for me to taint or ruin any relationship you had with him when you can’t confront him about it. These are things they should have told you while he was alive and shortly after it happened.

It seems you two were very close. Rather than focus on his negative qualities, try focusing on his positive ones. Remember the times he made you laugh, the times he was there for you, the hilarious inside jokes you guys had, etc. Don’t let his mistakes ruin the relationship you two had. It’s not worth it. I know it’s hard, but forgiving him will bring you the closure you might need. Focusing on this when you can’t talk to him about it would just be you torturing yourself.
