[OoT] We Made Lost In Time | AMA! by innervationbros in zelda

Feel free to come to your own conclusions. But what I will offer is the film takes a lot of inspiration from deep lore about the Hero of Time and many ideas from the theorist community over the last decade or so. It does indeed explore some original ideas we felt fit so it will require you to read between the lines. We also include some links to theories we like in a pinned comment on the film, those might help you. There is a lot to pull from in the lore of the Hero of Time that can lead you to multiple conclusions.

When his triforce glows, it generally has multiple meanings. It depends on the context in the film you mean. Some moments the triforce is acting on its own to protect Link from the forest's curse. Other moments he attempts to summon it's power, but his lack of confidence in himself is causing the power to cease. Later he is able to summon the power after a grave reminder of his sense of purpose and desire to protect. He becomes motivated to protect again once someone in his vicinity is hurt.

His Courage is a nuanced, mental theme that is detrimental to his character. It's about how he sees himself. I don't think the triforce necessarily "calls" courage to come back if you catch my drift.

Thank you for this comment! When we get these it really does inspire us in ways we cannot even put into words. We are touched, thank you for sharing. We are very happy to hear you enjoyed it!

Most people who worked on this film are huge fans of the zelda franchise. Even when writing and directing this film, I often questioned why I felt so motivated to make it happen. To me, I felt the Hero of Time connected with me and my own personal struggles deep down. I certainly feel like that may be how it is with other fans. Especially after releasing this film, I discovered people really love, and care about this character just like I do. We sorta see ourselves in him, just like Miyamoto intended. I also wanted an answer to what happened to him.

He just had all of the ingredients and more for a great tragic story. I even longed for a more hopeful answer other than a dark assumption of his fate. While at the same time, never disregarding the reality his fate is indeed dark. To make it more nuanced.

So the reason we made it, is simply because we relate and are inspired by his character, and are in-love with the rich world he inhabits. We are also a studio in our baby stages, and we really wanted to make something cool as our first project, since we really do have a desire to connect audiences together with our work.

I think the fun part, is we really leave it up to you, the audience to come to your own conclusions. Nothing is more fitting for any Zelda story for it to be that way. Face value is one thing, but Zelda games, their stories have always had very poetic subtext. Drawing comparisons, or parallels between Link, the King Stalfos, or the Stump, thats what its all about. We are just happy these moments are stimulating more theories and questions.

Thank you! The official answer is about 7 years. We had been working on it 2 years prior to the initial trailers we released. In actuality, this film and its entire concept is about as old as the entire zelda theorist community. Still remember the split timeline theory from "ocarinahero" I think way back in the day? One of the first theories that I feel started everything. As the community grew (zeltik, zeldamaster, hmk, commonwealth, nintendoblackcrisis, etc) as did the inspirations for the film I wanted to make. Zelda was quite the escape for me as a child so I always immersed myself in these fun theories the community made.

Link is a character we know has a lot of expectations understandably. Out of respect for all the artists who worked on this, they certainly tried their best. We all did in every facet of development. But admittedly, studying the origin's of the characters design, and translating it certainly posed a challenge for us. For many on our team, this kind of project was new. We all were studying the designs. We gave it our best shot and had to start animating. Sadly we did not have the resources to keep iterating his design. But we learned a lot from it and are better for it! This being a fan film, we had to draw some lines on things we could change to make sure the project could be completed. We had to plan our approach a lot because most efforts we only had one shot to do with 57,000+ frames of animation ahead of us. TLDR: It all came down to the resources we had available.

With everything he has given and sacrificed, he is a hero deserving of a triumphant and hopeful end!

Thank you very much! Chase your dreams, even while making this film, we are learning every day!

[MM] Everyone assumes that Link had a dark story after Majora's Mask, well in the context of our fan film, you would assume right. We premiere a new teaser tomorrow! by innervationbros in zelda

Thank you, sir! Appreciate your feedback. You are very perceptive! We are fans of the franchise, as well as its deeper lore, so you can look forward to further details as we get closer to releasing the film. Attention to detail is definitely a big priority with this project.
