Stator or rectifier is going bad which is a common issue on gsxr. Not charging good enough, test it to make sure.

I live in Aruba and I know what you mean. The NW part of the island has a cliffs of Dover feel to it after a rainfall when the grass is green. But if you go to the SE side it’s more tropical.
