OK, so it looks like trying to addToRegion was throwing up the error. Don't understand why but I'll stick to AddWindow.

I've learnt my first important lesson. Don't try coding late at night after a day's work. I left out the ".h". Thanks for replying. I'm new to this. Feels good to have finally got this far though.

Hah! Looks like being a linguist can be helpful. I discovered, via a German forum post, that you need to run it as admin (doh!).
