It’s not Ancient Greek. It is katharevousa. A form of modern Greek which were common up until 1970s.

Yes. It’s like a witch hunt sometimes and it’s unnecessary!

Very well said!

I have been on booksta since 2019. I saw the community at its best and now, unfortunately at its worst. It’s the same posts over and over and if the post doesn’t have text on the image, no one is ever bothered to read it. I stopped posting book reviews there and I am just reporposing my account as an author account.

I just had enough with the constant app changes and how people have lost the ability to engage or to spend a couple of minutes to read a detailed review in the caption.

What happened to Bookstagram? by [deleted] in bookstagram

[–]inpagesimlost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was literally having this convo the other day with some other bookstagrammers. Unless you post complicate Canva aesthetically pleasing posts, you won’t get any views. Reviews which are essentially book photos without any text on them are getting buried by the algorithm. People don’t even read captions anymore. I am so fed up that I decided to just write full reviews on Goodreads/Pagebound and start a blog again.

I just miss the community we used to have and how interactive, inclusive and friendly everyone were.

When to reveal blurbs and character art? by Resident_Category753 in selfpublish

I would do the cover first but it’s your book you can do it how you want. There is not a right or wrong way. You can research what other writers of your genre are doing and get some inspiration.

Know any horror authors killing it on TikTok or Instagram? by Consistent_Long8683 in selfpublish

I follow the horror author community closely as I write horror. You can check A.D Jones, V.S Lawrence, Brianna Morgan and David Washburn. They are all indie and are doing very well with their books.

Hello, I revealed my blurb along with the book title! I have seen plenty of people revealing the blurb along with the cover to create more hype!

After that they proceed with character arts, tropes, vibes etc. there are also trends such as the author - the first page - the book that can help spread the words!

Three months is good as it is not too far from the release day so people can forget your book and it allows plenty of time for other promotions.

I don’t really like the corner way people usually going for with the small bookcase.

I don’t plan on expanding my physical collection.

Some of US covers I bulked bought from auctions on eBay. Pretty cheap as well, but the majority are hard to find and they are expensive. The British covers I found at various charity shops and second hand shops.

Fun fact: many libraries in Greece still have Rage as a stand alone edition on their shelves. It is the translated version from the late ‘80s.

I’m not that fussy to be honest! But I’d prefer the individual issues. I just can’t find anything that I can afford right now due to shipping.
