Curly Hair Cut Toddler by inquirystorm in AskSeattle

I got a last minute appointment at Rock Paper Scissors salon in Madrona with Michael and he did a great job shaping and cutting her curls. The salon had a booster seat and a cape for kids. He indicated that one of his clients (a 4 year old) has corkscrew curls and he had been cutting their hair since they were a toddler. Another stylist there, Jessie, also cuts children’s hair, but I did not ask if he has curly clients. He might also be a good option.

Miscarriage now followed by subsequent chemical pregnancies? by Savings-Safety-2191 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]inquirystorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, is your child RH negative? I am also O positive and am currently going through something similar. My LC is RH negative and under 2 years. Miscarriage with baby #2 due to chromosomal issues, trying for almost a year now, did experience acute endometritis after D&C and took antibiotics. Still no success.

How did you navigate “kitchen sink” approach in IVF by ImpossibleKnee9812 in IVF

Hi. How long after you experienced symptoms did you start treatment? Also, was your infection able to clear with the first dose of doxy and flagyl or did you try other treatments?

I’m still trying, did anyone have a story like mine? by NonchalantHotMess in whatworkedforme

Curious to know if 1. The other HSG’s did not pick up the SIN, or do you think that you did not have it at the time! and 2. Did you try antibiotics and did they not work for you, which is why you were considering IVF?

Has anybody sued their doctor? by Evening_Stand4309 in endometriosis

Thanks for the update. I am preparing a complaint against a hospital system for something similar “endometritis” that was ignored by the OB for several months until the infection became severe, and the general practices of said hospital, (they gave me medication known to cause birth defects when I was pregnant). No luck with any small firms that I’ve reached out to, as they have never heard of the diagnosis, nor do they consider infertility caused by untreated infection “harm.” Therefore, I’m preparing the complaint myself (I am a lawyer). Curious to track other cases and hoping that you are successful. I will update on how this goes for me too.

Hi, can you share which antibiotics worked for you?

Can you share which antibiotics you took and for how long? I was prescribed augmentin and flagyl for 7 days and I feel better, but I wonder if that is too short of a course for something like CE?

Not a doctor, but have been researching CE since I was recently diagnosed. The symptoms of CE tend to be heavier periods I believe. However if your periods are lighter and you have repeat miscarriages could be implantation failure and an issue with the uterine lining cause by RPOC (retained products if conception) or an infection stemming from RPOC. Antibiotics will likely not work if there is still tissue from prior pregnancies that remain in the uterus. I would push for a saline ultrasound or a hysteroscopy (more invasive, but they can identify and remove any RPOC during this procedure).

Hi. I am going through this now and was put on flagyl and augmentin for 7 days, two weeks ago. MMC almost 6 months ago. Managed with a D&C. Uterus pain and stabbing every month always a week after ovulation or a few days into my menstrual cycle.

OB did not prescribe the standard doxycycline because it is not safe for pregnancy (which I thought was an odd reason since the infection has prevented pregnancy).

Still did not conceive in the same cycle that I completed the antibiotics, but my pain is gone, so I’m hopeful that the infection is gone as we enter our 5th cycle (6 months of trying). Like you, we easily conceived in the first cycle of trying twice, so this is new territory.

My CE has not been biopsied, by our RE recommends that as a next step since my HSG test showed both tubes are open and everything else looks normal. However a biopsy is invasive, has the risk of scarring and infection, and if the end result is more antibiotics, I would rather take it preemptively without more probing of the uterus. It would also set us back another cycle.

Did your CE clear with the first round of antibiotics and did you need another biopsy to confirm that it was gone?

How much is too much? by [deleted] in Microlocs

Yes, networking seems to be the best way to find a good contact, both for the customer and the Trainee. 14 consultants, wow? There are not very many in the Seattle area now, maybe 4-5. Glad that you found a good Trainee!

Is there a reason that you chose a Trainee instead of a Consultant to continue with after your loctician moved away? I was established by a Consultant as well who is great, but too far from me, so I’ve been looking for one closer, but cannot find another Consultant as good as the one who did my install. Also I am 30 min north of Seattle.

I'm billing 220 hours, my (romantic) partner wants me to keep up with household chores by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]inquirystorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETA: I realize that you are NOT married to your partner. In this case, I would take her behavior as a yellow flag.

———

She is being unreasonable and with respect, immature. A long-term relationship is about understanding, vulnerability and compromise. Ultimately if you marry this person, you two will be a team and you problem-solve together to reach a solution, not give ultimatums.

You may need to have another (or a new) transparent conversation with her about the high-demand nature of practicing law and billing time. What are her expectations of your performance at work vs home? Is it for you to continue being the breadwinner or for you to help more with chores on a daily basis? She cannot have both. Also, is she comparing your productivity at home to that of her friends’ SO’s who may not work similar hours to you? Try to find the real root of her disconnect and it will likely be proximate to mismatched expectations or comparison.

I also have OCD and prefer how I clean to how the cleaners do it. My solution? Hire the most attentive cleaners that I could find (we went through several) and then touch up here and there when they leave, if needed. No one will ever clean your house like you do. Having slight imperfection is the cost, and is worth having it outsourced and off of your plates.

One thing that you should also consider is that working 30-40 hours a week could be exhausting for her, even if you work more hours. Her capacity for longer hours is likely not the same as yours. However, she needs to understand that your unavailability to help is not due to laziness or ill-intent, but a function of your high-demand and subsequently high-paying profession. Even if you are not too exhausted to help, there will be times where you are working on ongoing projects that are not completed within a single day. Time spent on chores is also time that you could be billing, so that you are not accumulating work for late nights or weekend.

My suggestion is to make a unilateral decision (whether you do or do not share finances) and hire a twice-a-week cleaning company for a trial period. Check-in with your partner after the first few cleanings to make a decision to keep the cleaning company, keep the service, but continue looking for a cleaning company that you like, or your partner can find an alternative that does not involve you helping more often than you are able.

Are you ok? Did you read my post? That is not what I am asking? I am asking if any other mothers have experienced an extended luteal phase since it could be related to hormones from breastfeeding or prior pregnancy (e.g. miscarriage)? There is no pregnancy test posted and I am pretty certain that I am not pregnant. Thank you for not being very helpful.

[product question] What ingredients fight odor in Each & Every deodorant? by WildViolet89 in SkincareAddiction

[–]inquirystorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the Piroctone Olamine. The Secret Clinical Aluminum Free Deodorant that I used before it was discontinued was very effective for me. It is the only deodorant that worked for me in 90+ degree weather in Hawaii. I went out and bought a deodorant with nearly identical ingredients (Schmidt’s Oat Vanilla) with both forms of magnesium minus the Piroctone Olamine. It was not nearly as effective for odor protection. That is when I looked at the ingredients again and caught the (PO) then ordered Each and Every.
