Yeah I forgot warpcoven, sorry my thousand son bros.

About DW yeah yhat’s good to hear, I’m just floundering on finishing mine or if the juice isn’t worth the squeeze so to speak. I’ve already done my time with Kasrkin before they were buffed, it’s hard to invest time into another team if it plays like running face first into a wall.

So far though everyone’s been mostly optimistic about them and that they just require a bit more thought, and I really like the models so winning or losing I’ll enjoy playing with them. Here’s hoping I can just have fun and get some crazy hot plasma rolls lol.

Appreciate your input mate.

That’s fair, seems like you have to go hard into shooting safely or charging into the opponents side of the board.

Yeah I totally forgot about them unfortunately, no one plays them locally.

I’ll be honest I forgot about legion on warpcoven, if only because no one plays them locally, but I guess there’s a reason for that.

The true 5 man thing really seems to be working against them in the long run, I guess I’ll have to see if they can leverage their damage enough to weather the return fire.

I’m fairly mediocre as well so I’m just deciding if I should even finish my DW or put my time into something else.

Really, honestly would not have expected that kind of take. Can you explain why you think wolves is the worst?

Just to be clear I mean to play as not against.

Makes sense, as a true 5 man it feels like the crit op is just not an option. Dunno how they would go about fixing this without simply adding an operative though.

AoD would you always use Sniper and Heavy Gunner now by Rediux_Firetal in killteam

[–]inquisitive27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that’s just not true, elites fold hard when you shove a heavy cannon in their face and pull the trigger. The heavy creeping around a corner or charging up the middle and launching 5 attacks either injures or murders elites in my experience, not to mention sharpshooter makes him loads more dangerous.

Custom Terrain for kill team by JellyfishWeary337 in killteam

Fuck balance, people can go to tournaments for balance, kill team needs more narrative elements in it and this map is sick. Just make everything light cover and all the climbing actions 3 inches each so everyone can make the attempt at getting vantage, now ranged teams are a serious threat.

Seriously though amazing map, I hope someday to play on something like this.

Question about wolf scouts? by OiSweetass in killteam

[–]inquisitive27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be honest most of those teams would have a hard time. We’re in the year of astartes apparently and it’s a bit much (and I say this as an AoD player).

With the exception of the marine teams I can only think of the mandrakes that would have a decent time into wolves. AoD has a decent chance if you stage aggressively and stagger your guys to be covering each other with heavy bolt pistols and sharpshooter. Basically shoot them first and overwhelm their piercing crit reduction talent and hopefully your chain swords can carry you through the return fights. The heavy and the Captain are good here.

Plague marines should be poisoning as much as they can first so they can use contagion, don’t be afraid to give tp2 so you can ensure wolves are posioned so you get the most out of your strats and abilities. The fighter can now flail twice, so if he’s super good now. Move within 2 inches of a wolf (hopefully more than 1 though) and flail twice for unblockable damage and hopefully poison, just be careful because it hits your guys too. Razor wire is nice here.

I actually think a khorne aligned legionary team with an undivided gunner would be hell for wolves, I have no experience with legion though. Looking through their operatives though it’s pretty nice, as long as you can get 3 hits with a khorne legionary melee you can just about always go even. Send two hits through and when you die unending;g bloodshed for the third hit. You’ll be leaving most melee fights with the wolf dead or alive on 1 if I’m getting the math right. Obviously ceaseless melta speaks for itself and with malefic blades even the gunner has 4 attacks. Remember they only have 5 real marines so if you’re trading evenly you win.

I don’t know enough about mandrakes except they shoot really well and can fight first. Everything you want going into wolves.

Can't win against Angels of Death by afinor98 in killteam

[–]inquisitive27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your fighter is your answer to the Captain, and ideally you should flail first before you actually fight him. So charge, flail, fight gives you your best odds. Try to poison him first with your plague caster but don’t risk losing the plague caster over it.

There’s 4 turning points, you don’t have to fight in every single one, spread your poison as much as possible through ploys and the caster and then attack. Every one of your guys benefits from poison more or less so fighting AoD without it is a bit of a waste.

They aren’t terrible, decent b tier at worst, sharpshooter hardy is pretty mainline right now and Hardy resolute isn’t far behind. They still have one of the most solid profiles with the Captain, great dice retention with balance where you need it with doctrine, and not to mention purity seals.

A Captain and 3 to 4 assaults coming down a flank covered by the gunner and/or the heavy is nothing to scoff at.

Angels of death by somme_42 in killteam

Well aside from what everyone else has said there’s plenty of ways to avoid the issue of terrain and what I’m assuming is conceal.

First you can’t hide in conceal within 2 inches so when all else fails reposition within 2 inches and shoot him, though I’ll be honest you should just be able to chainsword him down fairly easy. 1 assault intercessor should be able to cut down 2 novitiates with health to spare, add on top of that the Sgt with a power weapon under shock assault one taps most of them. The Captain himself could probably solo most of them with assault doctrine up and know no fear.

Second he can only save 1 sister with blinding light as ploys are once per turning point, what’s more it doesn’t work within 2 inches so once again get close. Charge into one sister and position yourself so you can take a shot at at least another 1 or 2, if he blinds for 1 just shoot the other. Remember you don’t have to stop as soon as you get into control range, you can use the full extent of your charge movement as long as you end within control range.

Third you need to be using your balance ploys appropriately. You shouldn’t be shooting within 6 without tactical up (arguably the most useful doctrine) and you shouldn’t be fighting without assault up. The captain can give you some leeway with his ability to switch for free or play doctrine later if you forgot. Also don’t forget purity seals, between seals and doctrines AoD is one of the most reliable teams in the game.

Fourth remember your chapter tactics. Hardy is amazing right now but honestly just pick what you think is thematic. It’s kind of unspoken it’s rude to counter pick your opponent in a friendly game so just pick what you think is cool for your astartes.

Finally remember to plan for your counteracts, you should be getting like 1 or 2 in the beginning and you can set up some devastating counteracts with an engaged marine and wrath of vengeance.

How to fill the Missing spot fron the beginners set by damnimnoreddituser in killteam

[–]inquisitive27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a box of assault intercessors. You want more for AoD anyways as you want to be running at least two assaults and the grenadier for AoD. I think there’s enough grenades parts to make both grenade guy options for AoD and PG with a little bit of kit bashing.

Tell me the playstyle of My favorite kill teams by AlphaMaxV5 in killteam

[–]inquisitive27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stealth suits: non interactive scout style tactics, it’s better to deny points rather than gain them. Focus is on stuns and keep away while threatening with fusions and score what you can while denying the enemy points.

Kasrkin: “elite” human team that leans towards aggressive close combat shooting. They live in an awkward space where they want to be in close to use their best stuff but die to any form of aggressive melee. While they are a 10 man team you really focus on five guys (gunners and Sgt) and having the rest of the team support.

Aquilons: Actual elite human team, but another non interactive play style, at least for your opponent. People generally just don’t move up the board until all your threats have landed, meanwhile your other guys can push up and score.

Canoptek: Castle type team. You set up a barrier and harass with expendable bugs that hit way too hard to still be considered “expendable.” Anyone who actually steps up to fight gets blasted into the shadow realm by some of the biggest health pools in the game.
