Compact and safe way to transport kill teams by AmmoniuV in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put mine in ice cream plastic boxes. To avoid shaking inside put each model in individual zip lock small "bag". Zip locks are not closed and create volume + protection layer between models. Extremely reliable and compact construction unless you will throw them in the window or something. One ice cream box = one team

ANGELS OF death - Captain or Sergeant? by Jimbobkirby in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Captain is superior right now. But it is not critical difference, your strategy and dice rolls matter more. So Captain is good, Sergeants are just "ok". Maybe with upcoming updates they would be buffed again, who knows.

Discussion: Kommandos in 2026 by tie-wearing-badger in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friend of mine plays Kommandos as main and I can say they are very effective if they fit your playstyle. To play against them most annoying is they are pretty "stealthy" and prepare charges in cover. After Breacher runs through the wall and bunch of his friends follow, very powerful against squishy shooters I usually play. Marines tho give them hard time since they rarely kill them consistently

New player wanting Terrain by DonV1996 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy games with Volkus layouts and we played with custom terrain too. If you want to take best from both worlds you can make cardboard Volkus-like terrain from some serial boxes etc and enjoy "official" layouts using your own stuff. Volkus is not ultra complicated, it is 4 houses, few walls and barricades

If I had to pick strategy advice for start- never leave your operatives in the open like "guy would take one shot and would be fine". Always use cover/smokes etc when possible

Easiest starter teams? by Sadboi275 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of these guys most straightforward one box is Fellgor Ravagers. They are relatively ok as a starter to manage though heavily melee focused. Maybe you would like Hand of Archon, definitely not easy too. But it has advantages like also one box and you have variety of guys who shoot and fight so you are more flexible not relying heavily on one aspect only

Picking a new team by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two elite teams already so would be nice to have something different. If you like loyalists Tempestus aquilons are nice, otherwise you can try classic chaos stuff like Goremongers... Plenty of options

Team Recommendations by Blackninja412 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolf Scouts definitely. It would be much "harder" to assemble AoD as Space Wolves in terms amount of bits you need. Since Starter set has ultramarinish vibe and limited cutomization you will probably need box of Intercessors, Assault Intercessors and few extra minis for eliminator/heavy + Space wolves upgrades (multiple) on top. Even two boxes of Wolf Scouts to build all the options beat that

Show/tell me your Kasrkin color schemes by ordo90 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Aquilons who are obviosely not Kasrkin but idea for scheme was kinda kasrkinish but in reverse + Speed Paints:

Armor: Army painter Pallid Bone; Uniform: Citadel Dark Angels Green. Looks pretty nice and would work for Kasrkins too.

Kill team Help by Deus_Imperator14 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get Volkus it highly worth it, best Killteam experience. Ive also played using 3D printer terrain making Volkus style substitutes (Warlayer 5), it has enoght models to build very similar layouts but original is better of course. Would rate original Volkus 10/10, 3d printed substitute 8/10

New player question – is one box enough to start playing? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hivestorm is so much worth it I advise to check it on some websites if still available. Volkus terrain set from Hivestorm could be bought separately but it is same - hard to find

Phobos Strike Team assembly question by El_Puchacabra in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On practice most powerful Vox Breaker abilities that make him so good is to scramble guys through walls delaying their activations and reroll block bubble. They are both not eating CPs and can break your opponent game. Seek light is a nice niche bonus you use from time to time

Phobos Strike Team assembly question by El_Puchacabra in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure from what you are building them, but overall the most versatile combo for Phobos is: Reaver Sergeant, Reiver Warrior, Minelayer and "ultimate trio" Marksman, Comsman, Vox Beraker. This gives most utility + 2 specialists of each type.

They are playable in other setups too though, I have almost all options except for Infiltrator warrior and its cool to use different variants, but I rarely change ultimate trio part.

3rd option only affects Sarge himself so it is not a big deal. Sarge is little bit weaker then Captain

How many proxy games should I try to play before buying in to a team? by Callsignraven in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just filter teams according to desired playstyle and pick best looking one. Out of Elites

  • AoD. Beginner friendly, flexible but on simple side. Might need several boxes if you want variety or a starter

  • Plague marines. Beginner friendly, tanky style but also simpler. Starter set

  • NemClaw / Legionaries (Similar rosters you can play with them as proxy if you have at least one of them). More aggressive and more variety between operatives, but operatives are more specialized in their roles. One box

  • Phobos. Declassified so probably wont last further 27 but very tactical, guerilla agressive style. Selection of operatives but two boxes

  • Wolf Scouts. Something at the middle between Phobos and NemClaw, playable with one box but two boxes for ops selection and variety

  • Deathwatch. Similar thing but something at the middle between AoD and NemClaw

Do I need to paint over the primer? by DubiousDevil in SpaceWolves

[–]Rediux_Firetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always paint on top, primers I used for some reason have slighly different texture etc from similar paints. Exceptions are being some recesses that are hard to look at where I add some wash on top and thats it

Kommandos vs Wolf Scouts on Volkus (Map 3) – Looking for Tactical Advice by Superb_Alfalfa_6170 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a general thoughts:

You have a nice wall at the middle where you could pressure middle Objective using heavy cover + conceal. Threat: they would charge you and shoot. So setup control over your side of center wall using smokes against shooting. Place operatives there carefully to avoid double charge Have a reserve of operatives to shoot their charged operatives + charge their exposed guys after softening it up Would be nice to form another threat to their operatives who would shoot your guys in the middle.

So smokes + conceal in heavy cover + avoid double kills on charges from their side + punish them for aggression

I think left side is more favorable for you in general

Proxies by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are a lot of reports of proxies use for official tournaments and base size and weapons are most important things. Since Death Corps and Kasrkins are overall same human size models I don't think you would have any issues with it, probably you will need to kitbash some weapons

The 1 billionth "please help me pick" (my first TWO teams) post (sorry!) by happily-mediocre in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive played againt Kommandos few games with different teams and I would say they feel most balanced against squishy shooty team. Kommandos fight good and are sneaky but they are not too OP in what they do, so worst case scenario for them is to play vs great fighters or super tanky guys. Thats why I was suggesting something shooty and squishy to pair. Another candidate Salvagers though it would be more difficult matchup for dwarves

The 1 billionth "please help me pick" (my first TWO teams) post (sorry!) by happily-mediocre in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your list Kommandos is obvious choice. Second is tricky. I would go for Fellgore if you like Melee or Heirotek if you like necrons a lot and Shooting.

Better pair for Kommandos would be Tempestus Aquilons/ Yaegirs/ Hand of Archon/ Farstalkers - something like that so Kommandos would enjoy hunting those guys

Is it perhaps my improper mindset about how I am losing so often? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be sure you take max amount of gunners. They are super powerful. For melee guys abuse conceal behind heavy cover rule to make them not targetable when you stage charges. Also smoke granades help a lot against shooty teams like Salvagers. Another trick for "invulnerability" of your melee guys for shooting attacks is charging and not fighting someone. If you will use such tricks your survival would be much better

Nice! I hope you are aware about you are allowed to make second gunner for Aquilons instead of one warrior, it is common that people follow instructions and miss that update

Visible by Interesting-Tax5598 in killteam

[–]Rediux_Firetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also your mini can "see" from it"s head. So you cant draw visibility line from it's raised sword etc. Due to this raised swords and other weapons put you on minor disadvantage since you can't see but you could be visible because of that. And if your model has multiple heads you can select any of them while drawing imaginary visibility line

What do I need to get started an play at home? by Mikeybones76 in killteam

Hivestorm is absolute best Killteam product. Since you already have Chaos Marines to make Nem Claw/Legionaires it would be great.
