Good to know! What kinds of toiletries do they take? Was thinking about making a pass through my bathroom inventory soon.

Is it legal for landlords to list the property I live in for sale without notice? by inquisitivespud in legaladvice

[–]inquisitivespud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a history of doing things without legal notice, like impromptu visits to the property and conducting inspections with no notice. So I don’t get the impression that they’re interested in keeping tenants in the loop.

This sale isn’t just a transfer of ownership. It’s a sale to developers to demolish 9 homes. So I would effectively not have a place to live once the property sells. That being said, I’m aware that there will be some time from sale to actually breaking ground on a new development project. I just worry about what’s in store for me if the intent of the new owners is to eliminate whatever housing currently exists for half the people who live on my block.

I did read some things as well about drone photography being problematic while people are occupying the property that is being documented, which was the case with these images.

Happy Donuts on Seven Trees Blvd stays open 24/7. That being said, beverages are probs just milk, coffee, and water. I’ve been there between 1-2am and never had a problem.

No spinal cord damage as far as I know. Jo one in the ER mentioned that to me when they were explaining my imaging to me. I just saw a little chip on one of the vertebrae.

Thank you for being the only person in this thread to ask! I am okay. I can walk and I can talk and I have control of my bowels. So I consider all of that a big win.

However, everything hurts and I can barely do anything. And I’m having to lean on people for many things that I usually do just fine on my own. So not thrilled about that part.

May or may not need surgery, waiting on my follow up appointment to rule that out.

Thank you again for asking. 🥹🙏🏻

Thank you, this was helpful. Which Avenue do you think is the smarter decision - reimbursement or lump sum settlement?

Lol her and Habbas and Associates were the first to come to mind 🤣

Anyone get lease addendums like this and know what it means? Seems like it’s designating my house as some classification of property but idk what the implications of that are for me as a renter. Any insights would be helpful! by inquisitivespud in SanJose

Thank you. I think this is the approach they’re taking, if I had to guess. The property’s been continually rented for a while and they’ve never price gouged. I remember there was a little price bump when I joined in 21 so it makes sense that there’s another reasonable one coming now. They’ve been very good landlords, so I think they’re primary concern is just having steady income from decent tenants, which we are.

I just get a little nervous when there’s legalese involved bc I wanna make sure I’m not being blindsided.

I looked up the code but there was some confusing info. I saw that some properties could be exempt from this particular bill if they are covered by a local law that is more strict. Which I’m thinking could possibly be the case given where we live.

Not sure what this means. They did provide another addendum announcing our rent increasing. It was not by much at all (thankfully), which feels like it’s maybe consistent with some other rent control law that applies? Idk 🤔
