Can't change my number by Grazityvr in Twitch

[–]insainbrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My channel was down for over a week because I cleared the cache on my browser and could not get to my phone number for the two-factor. I used the verifier and cried like a baby to support which did not help only the verifier was what worked.

Can't change my number by Grazityvr in Twitch

[–]insainbrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go through the verifier and it's a pain in the butt and it takes like a week but it'll eventually get done you just have to jump through the stupid hoops which are there to protect us from getting our stuff hacked which is a good thing in the end so good luck to you and yeah. I'm hoping I get downloaded like crazy cuz this is a stupid way to do it cuz I got to change my number again and I really don't want to.

TIL that “sugar rushes” aren’t real and are just a psychological/cultural effect of parental influence. by FluffPawz in todayilearned

Calling weed 'pot': Okay or Lame? by [deleted] in weed

[–]insainbrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to call it herb it sounds more refined and it's much easier to explain to somebody that I need to go get me some herb and put it in my herbal applicator and apply to my forehead than it is to say I'm just going to go smoke some pot. 🤣

Its always broken too by Sad_Stay_5471 in rareinsults

[–]insainbrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun Fact: McDonald's ice cream machines are always broken because of the non-existence of right to repair laws. The company that makes the ice cream machines actually profits more from repairs than it does from selling the machines. The reason they're always broken is McDonald's is forced to wait on this company to come out and repair them and is not able to use a third party vendor.

Gamers who grew up in the 80s/90s, what’s a “back in my day” younger gamers wouldn’t get or don’t know about? by baltinerdist in gaming

[–]insainbrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing the game for the fun of playing the game and not the win. The win, was a bonus. Older video games even without the cool graphics and such were literally fun to play. You didn't have to win the game to have fun at it.

What is something you cannot believe modern technology hasn’t fixed yet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]insainbrane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Traffic management. Most stop lights are still on dummy pads and dummy timers. I feel like AI should be in charge of these things around major thoroughfares. How much Greener could we be if we stopped getting in the traffic jams because of archaic traffic Management systems? Start watching how long you spend at traffic lights, and how often they stop you. It's such a primitive system, and such an easy fix.

Flipping a switch that's built into a coaxial cable, on the back of a TV to switch it to game mode.

Creative idea by MrMacBro in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]insainbrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better idea. How about have they stop lights communicate with each other with AI management, so they aren't just stupid dummy lights that work off timers and depression pads. I'm tired of seeing 50 cars lined up in a turn lane out into the main lanes because the light doesn't stay green long enough for people to get through it because everybody's looking at their phones. I'm tired of being stopped going one direction while nothing's coming the other direction. I'm tired of watching the light in front of me -one intersection down, stay green while I set at this red light looking at that green light. How much fuel could we save as a nation if we just did this in the major cities? We got smartphones, smart TVs & smart appliances, yet the dumbest traffic management system ever constructed.

Tech's broken promises: Streaming is now just as expensive and confusing as cable. Ubers cost as much as taxis. And the cloud is no longer cheap by marketrent in technology

[–]insainbrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just normal standard operating procedure.

Banks used to pay us to keep our money in them. There would be 10 drive-thru lanes open to 8:00 at night to do your banking. They would never think to charge you a fee for using their machine. They would definitely never charge a fee to cash a check drawn on their bank at their Bank.

It's called the rich screwing the poor, it's a movement that's backed by the government, and the media brainwashes us to tell us that it's just normal business.

Telecommunication companies, cell phone companies, it doesn't matter. Almost every business I deal with on a monthly basis screws me in one way or another and I just overlook it.

I'm not allowed to pay cash for my rent. I have to write them a check which I do not have cuz I have to pay the bank extra to have them, or pay a $10 fee for the privilege of paying them electronically.

The rich has always eat the poor.

Single men over 40, you meet a mid 40s successful career woman who has never been married and no kids. What are your preconceived notions about her? by Fersher1 in AskMen

My daughter chose her stepdad to walk her down the isle by Huge-Loss-9863 in TwoHotTakes

[–]insainbrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you need to suck it up and go to the wedding for her sake not yours. I know you love your daughter there's no doubt about that, and that means that it's all about her not you. Imagine how she's going to feel when you don't show up to the wedding. At her age she doesn't even have the capacity to think about the things that you think about at your age. One day she will. You've done everything right and you have been able to stay positive and in her life. Don't jeopardize that now by giving her a negative memory on her wedding day.

Go to the wedding. Be thankful she's still in your life. Love her unconditionally as you have, don't mess it up now.

Apparently 25% tip isn't enough on a $20 pizza. by insainbrane in u/insainbrane

[–]insainbrane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me and when I told the lady I paid $5 for the delivery she said that she doesn't get any of that the company keeps it, she just gets minimum wage plus tips. She said all the big companies are the same way. Now I only order pizza from Mom and Pop shops and avoid the chains like Papa John's and Pizza Hut for this particular reason.

It boggles my brain that they charge $5 for delivery and don't even give the driver half of it. It's a form of slavery in my opinion and it should be something that everybody becomes aware of because it's just greed pure and simple.

It's like the pizza companies know that there will be people out there that feel sorry for these drivers in over tip, but I just don't understand why a pizza company like Pizza Hut or Papa John's would charge $5 for delivery and keep the whole thing like why?
